Sunday Thoughts

I guess you guys know buy know that I've been feeling pretty disenchanted with blogging recently. I used to blog because I was excited and wanted to share, but it's started to feel less exciting recently. I don't really know why that is, there's no real reason for it, it's just my brain being weird I guess.

I've been craving time offline too, something that never used to happen. I've wanted to be outside, enjoying my last summer holiday, not cooped up on a laptop in a hot bedroom.

I always feel less inspired when I'm out of London too, so hopefully spending next weekend back up there will help!

That doesn't mean I want to stop producing content though, I'm just running out of steam a little here on the ideas front. I'd love if you guys could tell me what to see here, do you want to see drugstore stuff, more videos, pictures of my face, more standalone reviews? What floats your blog reading boat, so to speak?

In the meantime, I'm going to skimp out on a proper post today, because I'm writing this on the first Saturday my boyfriend has had off work in two months. So we are going out, to make the most of the great British Summer.

See you all tomorrow!

I've not been blogging long, and I already struggle with thinking of content that hasn't been done 1000 times before, or that people really want to read about! A break sounds like the best thing for you though, good luck! :)I gotta ask, where is that adorable agenda from?! Love it!! Lilly xx http://alittlelilly.blogspot.nl/

  7. I guess the question is - is this blog a 'job' or work for you? If so, the effort you put in is fantastic, and the product you create is great but, as with all jobs, you don't do it 24/7. In fact, we usually get 1-2 days a week off a 'normal' job, and no one questions whether that is right or appropriate - it just is! Or is it a hobby? If you're not enjoying it, take some time to find what excites you and find an outlet that allows you to enjoy life at the pace you want. In these hot summer days, with lots of 'real life' going on, it's entirely understandable that you are not wanting to be tied to blogging in the way the cold winter days allow you that extra time to be at home and creating posts. Find what you love doing, and enjoy life!

  8. I think we all go through phases with blogging, I definitely have scaled back on the posts in the past couple of months or so. It's not so much that I've lost interest in makeup, it's more that I don't feel the need to publish content as regularly as I used to, or even if I think to myself, 'hmm, I should probably set aside the time now to blog', I'd just prefer to do something else. So maybe it's just laziness mixed with a bit of lack of inspiration/motivation. But I think a slowdown is good sometimes to regroup and think about what about blogging is fun and engaging in the first place. Hope you manage to make the most of your summery sunshine :)

  26. Same, tbh. I think a lot of us are feeling that way though, because of the summer. I can't speak for everyone, but I just want to spend as much time as possible offline/doing fun non-blogging stuff. I can't even remember the last time I did a 'legit' beauty post.
