The Christmas Pamper

Happy Christmas everyone! I hope you are all thoroughly stuffing your face, got lots of wonderful presents, and are enjoying spending time with your loved ones! And if you're reading this on a shiny new phone, tablet or laptop, well, you lucky duck.

There's nothing I like more at Christmas than a good pamper sesh (except for food and presents and chocolate...). And I like it to start on Christmas eve, I fold my tired limbs into a hot bubble bath for a nice long soak, and this year I plumped for Lush's Christmas Eve bubble bar, which smells beautifully of Jasmine, and is very calming. 

I just wanted to take a minute to thank every single one of you, I love you all very much, and I hope you're having a wonderful Christmas!

The Review: Lush Santa Lip Scrub

I've been a Lush Lip Scrub fan for a while now, after tracking down a Popcorn scrub in an obscure branch when it was sold out everywhere. However, I wasn't in love with the taste, it's more salted caramel than popcorn.

This year however, I struck gold with the Christmas Edition of the scrub. The Santa's lip scrub is cola bottle flavour. Yes cola bottle. Possible the scrummiest thing ever, and it smells incredible too. The formula is a little different to the original, I find the Popcorn one quite coarse and dry, whereas this is a little more like a body scrub formula, it sticks together and isn't as lumpy and harsh, making it better for everyday use.

I use this everyday as part of my evening skincare routine, and the difference it makes to my lips is incredible, especially as we head into the chapped lip territory of Winter. These come in at around the five pound mark, making them a brilliant stocking filler too! Or if you're like my mum who likes to pop personalised pressies into our Christmas Crackers (last year I got a gorgeous shimmery Model's Own polish) this is great for that too.

The Christmas Gift Guide - The Sweet Lushie

 I know, I know, you don't even want to think about Christmas yet, but the fact of the matter is that the season to be jolly is almost upon us, and the number of shopping days left are fast disappearing. So here I am with another Christmas gift set to propel you into motion.

It's no secret on this here blog that yours truly is a mahooooosive Lush fan (no idea where I get it from, my mum can't stand the stuff!), so you had to know a Lush gift was coming your way. I stood in front of all the Christmas gift sets in the Liverpool Street Station Branch, almost convincing myself to pay £125.95 for this bad boy, before the sales assistant pointed out this set, The Sweetest Thing, which comes in at a much more conservative £11.95.

So what's inside? 

Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly is one of the first Lush products I ever owned, way back when my dad did some work for Lush. This stuff is literally like jelly, it's soft and wobbly and it smells just like Vimto. It's not the easiest stuff to maneuver in the shower, it's so squidgy, but it's worth it because the scent absorbs into your skin, making you smell deliciously edible all day long. 

 Massage bars are another product that I haven't had in a really long time, so I was quite excited to find this inside! Shimmy Shimmy is a Vanilla scented massage bar, packed with iridescent gold shimmer, perfect for party season! It's super moisturising and leaves a gorgeous shimmer on your skin, so I'll be reserving this for nights out, but it's definitely persuaded me to pick up another, non-glittery one to retry!

Snow Fairy fans, rejoyce, because this soap is available year round and carries the same scent, which is bizarre, because I can't stand Snow Fairy, it's too sickly sweet for me, but I LOVE this. Lush soaps are relatively new to me, but this is definitely one of my favourites. It smells incredible and lathers up nicely. If you aren't a fan of Snow Fairy don't be put off, because this definitely isn't as intense, it's really lovely!

In short, this is a perfect Christmas gift for any sweet scent lovers out there!

October Favourites 2013

I honestly can't believe how quickly October has gone, I think because I was quite ill at the beginning of the month, and was pretty much tucked up in bed for ten days, the month feels super short. As a result, it was pretty difficult to pick my favourites for this month. In the end, I went about doing my makeup and my getting ready process, and just put aside each product I knew I had reached for more days than not, and came up with this bunch for you.

First up skincare. For the body I have been loving the Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub. The scent is slightly unseasonal for this time of year, but I had wanted to try this for ages, but I needed to get through all my backups of The Breakfast Scrub first. It's a gorgeous brown sugar and lime scent which is super sickly sweet but I love it. It's not as gritty as The Breakfast Scrub, so that combined with the scent means that once I've used this up, I probably won't repurchase this til next summer. My skin needs something a little harsher in the winter, but I like this a lot.

Back in September I purchased a full size of the Origins Clear Improvement mask, after I had a tiny sample of it and was impressed with how far it went. It's a clay based mask which really drags out any nasty stuff in your skin and clears it up massively. It's an expensive product, (£23) but based on how many masks I got out of my previous sample size, I'm paying less than 30p for each use, which to me is a bargain.

Two products from Lush, although to be honest Lush in general is definitely a favourite. I'm really happy with my current skincare routine at the moment (not to mention my bathtime routine) and a large portion of the products I use are from Lush. I did pick out two to share with you though, Santa's Lip Scrub and Let The Good Times Roll. I won't say any more about these because I just did a massive post on Lush, but if you want to hear more about this product click here.

Onto makeup and the base I have been consistently reaching for this month is the L'Oreal Nude Magique Eau De Teint. I absolutely love this foundation, it might just be one of my favourite drugstore releases this year. It's super super lightweight on your skin, it honestly feels like you've just dusted a little powder on your skin. It evens out any redness, whilst looking so natural, nobody will ever believe you're wearing foundation. 

To go with that base, I've been reaching for the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, which definitely lives up to the hype around it the last few months. This is a super creamy concealer (as the name would suggest) which is high enough coverage to disguise no sleep, and the pizza induced breakout on your chin, whilst again looking really natural. This has become a staple in my makeup routine, and I can't see myself without it. 

For eyes, I have been going for a darker, more autumnal look, and the star of the show for me has been this MAC Quad. I have two MAC quads and I'm going to be doing a post on them both soon, but this one holds the darker, more wintery colours of the two. In here is Cranberry, Sketch, Blackberry and Satin Taupe, and pretty much every day my eyes have been sporting two of these colours.

Lastly for eyes, I've been trying to get back into liner again. When I was in college, I don't think I ever left the house without cat flicks and kohl rimmed waterlines, but it's been a while since I've sported that look recently. I repurchased the Soap and Glory Supercat Liner again last month and have been making an effort to use it again, I think black liquid liner really finishes off a dark smokey eye look, and I like this pen since it takes all the difficulty out of winged liner! 

The last thing I want to mention is not a beauty product, but my new Yankee Candle Tart Burner. There's a new Yankee Candle store in Westfield, which is conveniently located about thirty seconds from my uni campus, so needless to say, I headed in there pretty excitedly with paycheck in hand at the end of last month. My plan had been to buy a large jar of Christmas Cookie to get in the Christmas Spirit, but this Tart Burner was reduced and the tarts were on offer, so I ended up getting this instead. I like that this means I can change up scents more often (large jars have a burn time of 150 hours, whereas the tarts are 8) and because of the deal on, this worked out cheaper in terms of burn time. Anyway, I've been loving having this burning whilst I'm working in the house, particularly with Christmas Cookie and the Vanilla Lime scent (which my boyfriend likes too!).

The Best Of Lush

 I can't be the only one who finds walking into a Lush store pretty intimidating. With more bath bombs than I have had hot dinners, and a barrage of different sickly smells, it's pretty hard to know where to start. I've tried a fair few bits from Lush now (my dad doing a job in the factory when I was younger and coming back with boxes and boxes of freebies helped),  so here are my recommendations for what to pick up next time you're in store.

Cinders Bath Ballistic: Starting off with one from the Christmas line, which I will be stocking up on to see me through the next few months. The idea of this bath bomb comes from crackling fires, and when you drop this in your bath you'll be met with golden waters and the sound of popping candy cracking under water, just like the sound of a roaring log fire. It contains Cinnamon and Almond Oils, but also Citrus notes, so it kind of smells like a spicy fruit punch. This is currently a definite contestant for my Christmas Eve bath.

You've Been Mangoed Bath Melt: This is actually the only one of the bath melts I like the scent of! It's a mango and lime fragrance which is super sweet and lovely. The main ingredient of this is Cocoa butter, so it's crazy hydrating and makes the water incredibly soft. I either use just this, or half of one of these paired with either Cinders or Fizzbanger to add a little hydration into the water. You can skip the body butter after a bath in this!

Fizzbanger Bath Ballistic: Looks pretty boring from the outside but don't be fooled. This spins round the bath, popping candy cracking, in spirals of yellow and blue, leaving you to soak in a green tub smelling of apple pie. Could there be a better bath scent? 

Phoenix Rising Bath Ballistic: This is my absolute favourite bath accompaniment, it's got Shea and Cocoa butter in so it's crazy hydrating, it's purple with gold glitter, and the main scent is sweet cinnamon. It's a very comforting bath bomb, one I tend to reach for on cold rainy days, or if I'm missing home.

NEW! Shampoo Bar: I bought this after Sophie told me it helps stimulate hair growth! Once you get used to the bizarre feeling of rubbing a bar of soap into your hair, it's pretty good. The smell of this is incredibly strong when you get it but fades to a much more bearable cinnamon scent after a week or so. Exceptionally clarifying and makes hair super shiny. 

Let The Good Times Roll: I'm sure you know by now that this is my FAVOURITE EVER LUSH PRODUCT. LIKE FAVOURITE EVER EVER. I'm so glad this has been bought back! It smells like caramel popcorn, which can only be a good thing, and gently exfoliates the face getting rid of dead skin cells, dirt, and keeping the skin looking radiant. I refuse to not have this in my house! Again, this contains Cinnamon but you can't smell it in this (are you sensing a cinnamon theme here yet?).

Ultrabland: This is an excellent makeup remover, but I wouldn't recommend using this as your sole cleanser. It's oil based so it removes even waterproof mascara like a dream, but it does leave a bit of a residue, so I reach for this when I'm wearing a lot of makeup, and then use a second cleanser after. Not one for oily skin, but if you have really dry skin, you'll want to slather this stuff on. 

Ocean Salt: I keep this in the shower for giving my face a good scrub whilst I'm waiting for my conditioner to work it's magic. It's made with Vodka, limes and grapefruit, making it antiseptic, I tend to reach for this a lot more frequently when my skin is freaking out. It's got big chunks of sea salt piled on top of a creamy base, making it exfoliating, but also super hydrating on your skin. Love this stuff, just not the taste!

Catastrophe Cosmetic Fresh Face Mask: The best of the Lush face masks. Cammomile and Blueberries combined into a clay based mask which soothes every skin freak out and banishes spots overnight. It's preservative free which means it needs to be kept in the fridge and used within six weeks (you'll know when not to use it, when it starts developing spots of mould, nice).

Grease Lightening Spot Treatment: The only spot treatment I use now. If I get spots these days it tends to be down to either stress, hormones or food, so I know I either need to calm down, start popping Feminax or stop ordering Dominos to banish breakouts, but when I need a spot gone RIGHT NOW, I reach for this. It's completely natural with the exception of one preservative, which I don't mind because a little goes a long way with this stuff and I don't want to be chucking out most of it because it's out of date! It works by soothing, whilst being a combination of astringent, antibacterial and antisceptic, to get rid of nasties. I pop this on and it dries clear, and the next morning the spot is gone.

Popcorn Lip Scrub: Simple stuff, a combo of sugar and oils that you can scrub across your lips and lick off to leave them super smooth, a must have for Winter. This particular one is Salted Caramel Flavour, mmmmmmm.

Santa's Lip Scrub: This years Christmas edition of the lip scrub is bright red and cola flavoured. The formula of this one is less gritty and less abrasive so it's better for daily upkeep rather than tackling scaly lip bits.

Vanillary Solid Perfume: My go to Autumn Winter Fragrance. Vanilla, Jasmin and Caramel, it's grown up, sweet, and oh so comforting. Have a sniff, I'm awful at describing scents.

A Million Kisses Lip Tint: They don't actually do this colour any more but they do have this one instead. I love Lush Lip tints, they're crazy pigmented, you literally need the tiniest amount, they aren't drying, and the little tin packaging is so cute!

Honey Trap Lip Balm: This one is white chocolate and honey flavour. Yum, yum, yum. It's incredibly hydrating, similar in effect to Nuxe Reve De Miel but half the price. Again, I love the little tin it comes in.

Loving Lately #3

 As you can probably tell, I've fallen out of the blogging swing, it's been a few weeks since my regular posting went down the drain, and as well as being ill/internet problems, I've been struggling to find the motivation and the inspiration to keep going with the blog. After a weekend up the bum I've given myself a stern talking to and a metaphorical kick up the bum, and I thought, what better way to get back into the swing of things, than some mini reviews of products I've been loving recently.

First up, two skincare products from Origins. Emerging from some very spotty teenage years, I now start to panic at the slightest sign of congestion in my skin. It's taken me years to get my skin better and the idea of going backwards terrifies me. However, I've taken to using the Origins Clear Improvement mask when I feel like my skin is getting a little iffy, and sure enough there has been a clear improvement (sorry, couldn't resist!). I use a hot flannel to open up my pores and then pop a little bit of this on my skin (you don't need much at all). Yes it's pricey, but when I bought this, the lady in the shop gave me a little sample to try first, so if I didn't like it I could exchange it for something else, and that tiny little 7ml sample gave me four and a bit uses, so I can't see me running out of this 100ml bottle any time soon. Also from Origins, I finally caved and bought the matching eye cream to my beloved day cream. The Ginzing Eye Cream is definitely more of a cream product than it's sister day cream which is more of a gel, but it's still super light in texture, and it really brightens up the under eyes.

After seeing lots of hype in the States around the L'Oreal Nude Magique foundation, when I saw it in Boots I had to snap it up and it's safe to say, it's love. If your poison is high coverage, then this is not for you, but I find that this evens out my skintone enough that I just need a little touch of concealer around the nose, on my undereyes and on any blemishes.  I love the way it feels on my skin, it looks totally natural, honestly like there's nothing there, but your skin feels ever so soft and almost matte wearing it. I haven't used anything else since I got this!

Being ill for the last few weeks has left me looking a little, well, dead, so I've been relying on makeup to perk up my complexion and leave me looking less like an extra from a Halloween Movie. The Bourjois Bronzing Primer has been a godsend in mousse form for this. I've just been taking a tiny amount of this on my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and popping it on my temples, and under my cheekbones, for a little colour.

If you follow me on Twitter of Instagram, you may have seen my excitement last week as Lush finally bought back my beloved Let The Good Times Roll Cleanser! You can read my original ramblings here, but really what you need to know is that this will keep your skin clear and glowy, and it smells amazing too.

Two nail things, firstly I picked up the Stylefile nail file after breaking my nail and not being able to find a nail file in my room back home. It comes in at around the five pound mark but is worth every penny. It's much more resiliant than your average file, the curved shape makes getting an even nail shape easier, and it has two sides, a rougher side for shaping and a smoother side for finishing. My nail polish pick of late has been from the new Barry M Texture polishes that are somewhat Reminiscent of OPI Liquid Sands. I'm not really a fan of Barry M Nail polishes but I love this, a sparkly polish that is easy to remove, long lasting and so pretty! It makes me feel all wintery! This is the shade Countess which is my favourite, but I've been loving Duchess too.

And lastly, my Maybelline Baby Lips in Intense Care has been getting hourly love from me this week. When I have a cold I always get super dry lips, and as much as I love my Nuxe Reve De Miel, it's more of a nighttime thing, and not massively practical for in the day, so I've been reaching for this. I find this way more hydrating than Cherry Me, Pink Punch and Peach Kiss. It's apparently got a Cherry Almond scent but to me it just smells just like Battenburg Cake. I tend to go into a bit of a daze when applying this since it smells so good!

The Accidental Lush Haul

Lush really is a total Marmite shop. There are people like my mum, who start gagging within a fifty foot radius of a store, and then people like me who just can't get enough of their products.

If you fall into the latter category too, you'll know that it's damn near impossible to go into Lush for just 'a look', or even for just one product. I popped in at the beginning of the month to pick up a bath bomb as a little payday treat, since I now have a bath in my new flat! Anyway, I was uhmmming and ahhing over bath bombs and ended up leaving with a little more than I had originally planned. 

Phoenix Rising was the bath bomb I had in mind when I headed into Lush, it's my ultimate favourite, but I feel like sometimes I need to try something different! Anyway, it's a pretty strange smelling bath bomb, to me it smells like cola bottles from the sweet shop, but apparently it contains Cinnamon? I can't smell the Cinnamon in it at all though, so if you aren't a fan, don't let it put you off! It contains Shea butter, Cocoa butter and Jojoba oil, so your skin will feel silky smooth afterwards! A word of warning though, you will need to shower off after, unless you want to be glittering gold... 

I've wanted to try this for forever, since ya'know, it kinda fits with my name (Rockett, in case you didn't know). Space Girl has got a gorgeous grapefruit scent, with hints of Bergamot and Almond. It's not as good for your skin as Phoenix Rising, but it doesn't matter to me since a) it's glittery, and b) it's got popping candy in. Yes, popping candy. If you put your head under the water whilst this is fizzing, you can hear it popping.

I've wanted to try a bubble bar for ages, but none of them were really looking to exciting to me. I was about to settle for Dorothy just because it's really cute, but then I came across their bubbleroons, which I'd never seen before, and this one, Yuzu and Cocoa has the most gorgeous cocoa and orange scent. It contains Yuzu oil, which is a type of mandarin, and tonnes of cocoa butter so it's very soft on the skin. I love these too, because you can use them for multiple baths.

I've wanted to try a Lush soap for ages, but I've never been able to narrow it down. My boyfriend actually picked this one up and ohhhhhhhh lord, it smells good. Sexy Peel smells like citrus marmalade, like orange and lemons. It's packed with oils so it's super creamy, and the smell is really refreshing, perfect for waking you up in the mornings.

There's a bit of a back story to this one. Way back when I was just a little lipstick lover, (we are probably talking like 2007 here guys) my daddy did a big job for the Lush factorys, which are right where we live. Anyway, he came back with a hell load of Lush products, I mean, I bet if you look in my sister's bathroom now there would still be some kicking around in there, way past their sell by date. Anyway, amongst all the products there was a box with about twenty massage bars in that smelt heavenly of vanilla, and when I was stood in the queue they had this solid perfume called Vanillary, which smelt just like those massage bars, and I had one of those lovely "ohhh this smells like my childhood and oh when did I get so old and ohh I miss home" moments. So I bought it. It's kind of a grown up Vanilla scent, very warm and lovely, and I just want it to get cold and rainy again so I can wear this. Yup. Anyway. I also thought this would be great to keep in my handbag, since it's solid and there's no risk of smashing it, like with a standard perfume bottle!

 Also at the til (seriously, if there wasn't a queue my bank balance would have been a lot happier) was the lip balm Honey Trap. There was also three or four of these in the loot my dad got, which I used to death for the resulting year of teenagedom, and I wasn't aware Lush still made them, but I popped a bit of this on my lips in the queue and had a pang of longing for the lost years of my childhood (okay okay, I'll lay off the amateur dramatics now). So I bought it. Yes it was an impulse buy. No I don't regret it. Anyway, it tastes of white chocolate and honey, is super moisturising, and a great handbag size. 

The sales assistant also kindly chucked in a couple of samples of products I was on the fence about. I've heard lots of people talk about Grease Lightening and wanted to try it, and on the morning in question I woke up with an unwelcome visitor on my face (shock horror, I fell asleep on the sofa the night before in my work uniform with a full face of makeup on, so that explains it), so it was the perfect time. I also got a sample of Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter, because I like it, but I feel like the pot is really big and I'd never use it all before it's use by date.

Lush New Shampoo Bar

I don't talk about it much, since its a bit of a sensitive subject, but today, we're talking hair.

The short story here is, I didn't listen to my mother, dyed the bejesus out of my hair, until eventually it was so damaged, I had to have the whole lot lopped off to around my jawline. Can you imagine my face? Not happy.

After months and months (seriously, this happened back in January) I was in total denial and wouldn't leave the house without a hat or an army of extensions AND a hat. But now I've come to a state of acceptance, I've found out how best to style it to suit my face, and I'm rolling with it.

That does not mean I've given up on trying to make it grow.

Along with limiting heat styling, taking multivitamins, singlehandedly keeping Lee Stafford in business with my purchases of his hair growth mask, the lovely Sophie recommended that I try out Lush's shampoo bars, since they worked really well for her. After a brief discussion with one of the lovely ladies in Lush on South Molton Street, I left with this, rather smelly number, New.

Now, I'm going to be honest with you, the smell is not for the faint hearted. This bar stinks to high heaven of Cinnamon, I like cinnamon and even I find it a bit much. But if you can get passed it, it's worth it! It' does die down after a few uses anyway.

I was a little sceptical over this shampoo bar thing too, I love a good lather when it comes to shampooing my hair, and I found it hard to believe a bar would work effectively, but actually, if you rub this between your hands and then rub the bar directly into your hair, it works a treat. It's pretty clarifying so I don't use it every time I wash my hair, but if you're an oily scalped gal then go for it. As far as making your hair grow goes? I can't be sure if its my imagination or not, but I do think its working. Watch this space?

Testing, Testing.

There are a few products that have made it into my regular rotation recently, that I'm not ready to offer a full opinion on yet, but that I wanted to mention, maybe give you some first impressions. Some of these are newish purchases, others have been found in my stash, or in my box of pr samples that haven't been tried yet.

Lee Stafford Hair Growth Conditioner: I love the Lee Stafford For Hair That Doesn't Grow Past A Certain Length mask, and I've been using it for ages. I ran out recently and needed to repurchase, and the Lee Stafford range was on buy one get one half price, so I decided to pick up the matching conditioner. I've used this twice, it's a nice conditioner, smells lovely, and is pretty thick, which I like in a conditioner. I'll reserve judgement on whether it makes your hair grow or not for a while though!

Vichy Purete Thermale Cleanser for Normal/Dry Skin: My skin has been a little less combination/oily than usual, and I was finding my Body Shop Seaweed Cleanser a little too stripping for my skins current condition. So I went on a search for something a little more hydrating to use. I picked up this Vichy number and so far have been loving it, it's hydrating and leaves my skin feeling soft and supple.

L'Oreal Elnett Satin Hairspray: A lot of people rave about this hairspray, but I had never tried it. I picked this mini up to keep in my handbag on my work lunchbreak when my hair kept falling all over my face, and it stopped that, without making my hair too crispy.

Toni & Guy Cleanse Dry Shampoo*: I really love my V05 Give Me Texture spray for volumising my locks, but I'm still searching for a dry shampoo that gives my hair an extra day's wear, without leaving a grey powdery residue in my hair. So far, so good.

No 7 Beautiful Skin Melting Gel Cleanser: I've wanted to try this forever, so when I found a No 7 voucher floating around in my purse, I decided to pick it up. I really like using this in the shower, it's great at taking off makeup, even stubborn waterproof mascara, but I do like to follow up with the Vichy cleanser, just because it can leave a residue. 

Lush Fair Trade Foot Lotion: Wearing heels for nine hours a day at work without sitting down is ruining my feet. I've been through the last of my Body Shop Peppermint foot lotion, and although I liked it, I just found it a bit...meh. A few people recommended me this on twitter, it's the same price but actually a lot bigger. It smells and feels the same on application, but I actually find that my feet feel moisturised for much longer. 

Nivea In Shower Body Moisturiser: I picked this up after a sample left me feeling still quite undecided. This is never going to replace moisturiser, but it's nice in the mornings when you want a little moisture in your skin, but don't have time to hang around waiting for moisturiser to sink in.

Also in the testing rounds at the moment is the Lush Shampoo Bar New, which has a pretty overwhelming cinnamon scent, but is supposed to help your hair grow, so could just be worth it. I'm also trying out the new YSL Youth Forever Light Radiance Serum, which I am absolutely in love with, so expect some more info on that very soon!

June Favourites

Another month has been and gone and here we are on the first day of July. I can only hope the weather this month will be an improvement on the the dark skies and humidity of June, that have been sending my hair crazy.

It was really hard to pick my favourites for the month of June, I had a week of using some products back home, then I spent a week on holiday, and two weeks in London, so there are very few products that I have been consistently using throughout the month. However, the ones I have been using however, are good 'uns, so here we are.

No 7 Beautiful Skin BB Cream for Normal/Dry Skin: I started using this on my holiday, as I fancied a lighter base, with good SPF protection, and it's not really orange on my fair skin. I really like this, I expected that it would be okay, but didn't think I'd continue to use this once I got home. It's a gorgeous product, and if you're in the market for a lighter base, that suits pale skin, this is the one!

Tresemme Platinum Strength Hair Mask: I'm still not convinced on the effectiveness of this, as a repairing hair mask, but I've been really loving this instead of a conditioner, it's just a little thicker than your average conditioner.

Rimmel 60 Second Polish in Rose Libertine: This has become a bit of a cult blogger polish, but I absolutely love it. I'm not a big fan of pink polishes, but I love this. It's a beautiful dusky pink, with a good wear, it lasts about a week and a glossy finish. It's been on my fingers and toes for the most of the month.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer: I've had this for a long time now, but for the last two months, I've been using this every single day as my under eye concealer, on top of Illamasqua's pinky white under eye concealer, which acts as a corrector. It's the only combo that works on my giant under eye bags.

Lush Ocean Salt Face Scrub: I picked this up after Lush discontinued my all time favourite Let The Good Times Roll Scrub. It's really different, it's a cream with big chunks of salt in, that gently exfoliates your skin but whilst giving it a boost of moisture. It's a hard product to describe, so I'd recommend picking up a sample and trying it out!

Caudalie Beauty Elixir: My love for this has been reunited, after it got me onto my plane, since I'm mad scared of flying. The essential oils really calmed me down. I then used this as a toner for my holiday, and have carried on using it since. I only normally use this sporadically, as it's so expensive, but I figured, what's the point in buying these things if you don't use them? Anyway, my skin has cleared right up since using this!

Shu Uemera Lash Curlers: I used to own these a long time ago, and when I lost them, I just replaced them with cheap ones, which never really did much. Well anyway, I replaced these at the beginning of the month, and remembered just how good they are. They really are the only lash curlers that work, and they make my crappy lashes look incredible.

L'Oreal Glamshine Splash Stains in Lolita and Romy: I picked these up for my holiday and haven't stopped using them since. They're a great alternative to lipstick, and also a pretty decent dupe for the YSL Glossy Stains, although the colour range is massively different.

Montagne Jeuness Buriti Fruit Body Smoothie*: I saved the best til last. The best body moisturiser I've ever used, hands down. Lighter than any other moisturiser, and a yummy fruity fragrance. I'll be repurchasing this for sure.

The Holy Grail Product - Catastrophe Cosmetic

I'm pretty fickle when it comes to skincare. I look for the best, and I get bored of products easily. Having said that, there is one product that I would never not have in my rotation, and that is Lush's Catastrophe Cosmetic fresh face mask. It's the only skincare product I repurchase straight away when it runs out, in fact, it might just be the only repurchase I've ever made, and I'm surprised that it's taken me so long to post about it.

Catastrophe Cosmetic is a fresh clay based face mask. Made from blueberries and camomille, it's designed to calm your skin in times of trouble. Slap this on your face, and it will give your skin a good cleanse, dry your spots without drying out your face completely, and clear up any pesky breakouts.

And it works. I use this once a week, or the night before an important event, to clear out my skin. It's the only failsafe spot remover I've found, and it's pretty damn good.

And a few other bonuses? Made with all natural ingredients, proved by the fact it's got a six week expiry date, and it's pretty reasonable too. It works out at around a pound an application which isn't bad for something that works!

I've recommended this to a ton of people, all of whom have loved it! This is definitely holy grail status if you ask me!
