Scandaleyes!

I'm sure you're all very aware of the Rimmel Scandaleyes eye pencils by now, since I'm they are favoured by some of the 'bigger' beauty bloggers out there, but I really wanted to talk about them on the blog since they've really opened my eyes (sorry!) to the world of eye makeup.

Throughout secondary school and college, before I moved to London, my eye routine was very simple. Wake up, have eyes, rim them with masses of liquid and kohl black eyeliner, add lashings of mascara, and go about daily existence. There was a time when I felt all but naked without my trusty Max Factor gel liner. But like brows, I've become a lot more aware of different eye makeup possibilities, and how to best taper them to suit my face. Most of this, I'll admit, came with the purchase of my Naked 2 Palette, but until these bad boys came along, I still didn't feel completely comfortable kohl-less.

Generally, there is a lot to love about these pencils. They have a super creamy formula, so they are easy to apply without dragging your eyelid around, and I actually quite like the packaging. They are very will pigmented, so you don't need much product at all, so they last quite a while.

The nude colour gets used on me everyday, I use it on my waterline to get rid of what Estee from Essiebutton so lovingly refers to as 'asshole eyes', basically, it masks any redness and makes you look super awake. I also smudge it into the inner corners of my eyes, on its own, or as a base for highlighter. I think I've repurchased this twice already because I use it every single day without fail, and I love it!

I adore the taupe shade, I don't think any other drugstore brand has quite nailed this grey/brown shade in liner form yet, and it's a shame because it's such a lovely colour. It works really well with brown or grey eyeshadows, I tend to line my lash line and blend it out. It also works great along your bottom lash line, if you want to define your eyes a little more, much easier than trying to blend eyeshadow there!

These are makeup bag staples for me, Rimmel really do seem to be getting it spot on these days!
