Project Pan

I am very good at spending money on beauty products, I buy a lot. But sometimes, when a product enters the stash it gets forgotten. This normally happens after I've used half of it, and then moved on to something else. I've given myself a new rule for a new year, I'm not allowed to buy a new product, until I've used one up. So to buy a new lipstick I have to use a lipstick up, that sort of thing. So this week I went through the stash, and pulled out all the products that I'm going to try and use up over the next few weeks/months.

MUA Matte Perfect Primer: I've mentioned this product before, it's a near identical dupe for Benefit's Porefessional. I've stopped using primers recently, purely because I can't be bothered with the extra step in the morning, but I like the effect this primer gives. I'm about halfway through this tube, but a little really goes a long way.

Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara: I really do like this mascara, but the formula is just so wet that I kept getting it all over my face, so it was relegated to the back of the stash, until it dried up a bit. Luckily, it seems to have done just that, making it a lovely everyday mascara, adding length and a subtle amount of volume to my lashes.

Maybelline Baby Lips Intense Care: This isn't a product I stopped using, but it's one of the only lip balms I've ever gotten half way through, so I'm determined to finish it off! I use this in the mornings before I apply makeup to soften my lips up before I put on lipstick. Hydrating and easy, I really like this lip balm.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer: I've had this almost empty tube kicking around for ages now, but I have a new, unopened one waiting in the wings to be used, so I want to get the last bits out and use them up. This is one of my favourite primers, non-greasy and actually extends the life of my makeup.

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation: I spoke about this in this weeks' 'This Week I Loved' post, I stopped using it because the lack of pump is super inconvenient and I hate the smell, but I like the finish and coverage it gives. I have no idea how much is left but I've made quite a dent in it that's for sure, the lack of pump actually means a lot of it gets wasted.

Benefit Stay Don't Stray: This is so nearly used up, but a while back I finally understood the hype around the Urban Decay Primer Potion and since then, that's pretty much all I've used. However, this is an amazing eye primer, so back into the rotation it goes.

Benefit Hello Flawless Powder foundation: This is by far one of my favourite powders, but since I dropped it a month or so ago and cracked what was left (not much, I had hit pan drastically) I haven't used it much. However, this stuff is expensive and I'm not about to chuck it out when I can still use up the last bit. I don't think I'll be chucking this in my handbag anytime soon, but for setting my makeup in the mornings, it'll be just fine.

Rimmel Stay Matte: Yet another powder, I like this one, I just got a bit bored of it. I tend to sport powder a lot more in the summer, when I know I'll be shiny by 10 o'clock, but this is a nice lightweight setting powder, and there's not really that much left!

Vera Wang Princess: I kid you not, I've had this perfume for over three years. This is my go to scent, but I'm a one spritz and done sorta girl, I've never been one to douse myself in perfume. I really want to use this up though before it starts to go funny, I'm lucky it still smells good now!

Let The Good Times Roll: You guys already know this is like my favourite product ever, well... I love it so much I have two open. I have no idea why, I just do. One of them is nearly empty now, so I'm going to make a massive effort to use it up!

The Body Shop Mango Hand Sanitizer: I'm a bit of a hand sanitizer junkie, I have bottles everywhere, in every handbag, on my desk, on my bedside table, on my dressing table... you get the gist. This means however, that very rarely do any get used up. This is one of my favourite scents, and there's less than a third left, so it's time to finish it up!

Pixi Glow Tonic: I love this product, I really do, I just forget to use it. It has an amazing effect on my skin, I just never remember to use it. I'm going to put this by my sink so I remember to use it in the mornings.

What products do you need to use up? Have you tried any of these?

  1. Ha, glad it's not just me who does this. I've also got one of those Rimmel Stay Matte powders floating about somewhere...I also find it really difficult to finish up powders because towards the bottom it's like they've got all stuck to the pan and they just don't work as well! Annoying! x The perks of being a hipster - Victorias Secrets Giveaway!

  3. I have two, I found that after a while the lids went funny and wouldn't stay on, so I bought a second to carry with me, and now I have two that are half used! x

  6. I should try living by your rule too! But if I`m in a Beauty-Store I can`t go out without buying something - it`s ridiculous. You always find something you think you need really badly and don`t have anything like it allready...I also do it with drinks like coffee or water - I always leave the last few mililiters in the mug and make a new one...

  7. I've given myself the exact same rule this year! I also have a load of unopened products, and I've put them away not to be opened until needed. I love Let The Good Times Roll, on my first pot (nearly all gone) its just so good! Vanessa xxxwww.theothervw.com
