Welcome to the newest series on my blog! In the survey I asked you guys to take a look at a week ago, you mentioned you'd like to see more drugstore posts, and more product reviews, so here I am with two in one!
Over the last year or so, I have found a fair few products from the highstreet that serve as perfect copies of high end products I know and love, so for the next few weeks, I'm gonna share those products in this new Saturday Series.
So the first one is a foundation! You guys know about my love for the YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat it's my favourite high end foundation for sure. It's a medium coverage foundation that's really buildable, but still very natural looking. It's got a fairly dewy finish, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for oily skin, but for normal or dry skin it's a good'un. YSL is owned by L'Oreal, so it's hardly surprising that the dupe I found was from L'Oreal!
I picked up the L'Oreal True Match Foundation when I was back home for Christmas, and I was surprised at how similar it was. When I got back to my London flat I compared the two, and they're identical, I even put both on my face at once, one on one side and one on the other, so I could compare, and they are completely the same, even in wear time.
The YSL offering comes in at £29, whilst the L'Oreal one is a third of the price, available for £8.49.
If you are looking for a medium coverage foundation that looks super natural, this is the one you want!
This is a really good idea. I am going to have to try the L'oreal version as I've always wanted to try YSL foundation but can't bring myself to splurge! My go to high end foundation is Nars Sheer glow :) x
ReplyDeleteGreat dupe!
ReplyDeleteI was just debating if I should try the True match or not, now I'll definitely be picking it up :)sparklewithlaughter.blogspot.com
ReplyDeletePerfect! I've been debating whether or not to get the NARS one for a while now, I really want it but maybe need to use up a few more foundations first! x
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteAhh glad I could help! I hope you like it! x
ReplyDeleteGreat dupe:) But I dont know if the ysl one is worth trying, since here in Norway it is available for 50 and the True Match one is sold for 19. Everything here is so ridiculously overpriced, but oh well, just gotta accept it:)
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried either of these before but I have definitely heard some lovely things about both! I have more combination/oily skin though so I don't know if these would work for me. xxCelina | The Celution | Bloglovin
ReplyDeleteMy parents spent three months in Norway last year and said how expensive it was! I can't believe how much more you pay for this stuff! x
ReplyDeleteI'd say the YSL one is fine with combination skin, I used to work for YSL and have used it on all skin types, and had customers with oily skin who swear by it! I obviously haven't had as much experience with the L'Oreal one, but the formula is identical, so it might be worth trying! xx
ReplyDeleteI love true match, I have it in a couple of different colours and I'm so glad I've seen this as I was thinking of splashing out on the YSL but now I don't need to spend as much :) xRosalieJayne
ReplyDeleteI've seen this dupe mentioned a few time now! Might be worth a try methinks :) Loving your blog btw! Having a look through now.RachelTwentySomethingBeauty.comxx
ReplyDeleteNo it's honestly identical! Glad I could save you some money ;) x
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! Thank you so much! <3 x
ReplyDeleteI was just looking to this a few days ago, but then I decided for Bourjois CC cream, because in my country we don't have the lightest shade and yes I am super pale. Like I have white neck. So may I ask you what shade do you use?
ReplyDeleteWell I'm super pale and I use the shade Rose Ivory, R1C1! Hope that helps!
