This Week I Loved #5

I've been in a bit of a makeup rut this week, wearing pretty much the same products all week, probably because I've been so busy with uni work I've barely had time to breathe, never mind put thought into my makeup routine.

The first item that was obviously going to make an appearance this week is the NARS NARSissist Eyeshadow Palette. I did a full review post of this this week, which you can find here, so I'll keep this really brief. So far I've been loving the shades All About Eve #1, Ashes to Ashes, Bad Behaviour and Dogon #2. Gorgeous palette, I'm so glad I tracked it down.

The Chanel Vitalumiére Aqua foundation made it's way back into my makeup ranks last month, and I've fallen in love all over again. Despite it's lightweight finish and super thin texture, this definitely sits in the medium coverage bracket, I love the finish of this, it's so natural but it hides any imperfections. I've been reaching for this consistently this week because it's so easy to apply and looks great. 

I got my hands of two of the Tanya Burr Lipglosses at the beginning of this week. I didn't hold out much hope for them being wonder products but I was pleasantly surprised. The formulas are creamy and incredibly well pigmented for a gloss, they aren't sticky at all but they kind of set on your lips making them last much longer than your average gloss. One point however would be because they do kind of set on your lips, if you want to reapply you need to take off any residual lipgloss, otherwise it kind of turns all bitty on your lips, bit weird. Super impressed with these though, I've been wearing the shade Picnic in the Park the most, it's a pretty pink shade with the tiniest hint of shimmer.

I've had incredibly dry lips for the past couple of weeks, no lip balm or scrub was making the slightest bit of difference, until one night I really went to town with the Lush Santa Lip Scrub, really piling it onto my lips and it made such a difference. Turns out I just wasn't using enough and now my lips are back to normal!

I also wanted to mention two non beauty things I've been loving this week. The first is the new You Me at Six album that came out this week, (yes I know, I'm too old to admit to liking You Me at Six) I've pretty much been listening to it on repeat this week, it's pretty catchy. The album is called Cavalier Youth and I'd definitely recommend  having a listen (my favourite tracks so far are Room To Breathe, Fresh Start Fever and Wild Ones). Also this week the boy and I finished watching Orange is the New Black, and I really enjoyed that too, definitely worth a watch.
