It's been quite some time since I splurged on some new beauty bits - so I think it's high time I do just that! And if I'm splurging you should be too, so today I've got five beauty picks that are worth parting with your pennies for this month!
Let's start with an exciting release from the awesome team at Essie. Since gel polishes are all the rage right now it seems like a natural progression for the brand to expand into a line of gels. I picked up the topcoat plus two of the summer shades. Spool Me Over, a creamy peachy nude, and On The List, a creamy based coral shade. The new twisted bottle design is pretty, if a little difficult to store, and it comes with the same flat wide brush we love. The formula doesn't feel any thicker than Essie's usual polishes, but it's definitely a little glossier, and the combo of the colour & topcoat is a good 7 days no chips!
My go to foundation right now is the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Foundation - a waterbased foundation that sits somewhere in the medium coverage range. It blends really easily and feels super light on the skin, but manages to give coverage whilst looking natural. A great best of both worlds base.
I've been super shiny recently just because it's been so freaking humid, so I've gotten back into the routine of using a powder. I've been really loving the Maybelline Matte Maker Powder, which takes away shine without bumping up the coverage. It's also super budget friendly, so a guilt free splurge!
Urban Decay went rogue last month and relaunched all their lipsticks, and man are they gorgeous. I went for the shade Rush, a nudey-mauve everyday shade, in the cream formula, and I've already gotten a lot of use out of it. They pretty much have every shade in every colour, so you're guaranteed to find the perfect lipstick for you.
And lastly, a quick mention for the Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter, an old favourite I've bought back into commission this month. When it comes to removing suncream, stubborn waterproof makeup or bold lip colours, there's nothing better! It's gentle but effective, and it leaves your skin feeling silky soft.
What will you be splurging on this month?
