What's on my Face: The Birthday Edition!

Happy birthday to me! Gah, I'm nineteen, I feel so old! 

I've had a great day, done a fair bit of shopping and had lots of lovely presents, so at some point this week I'll show you what I got, but for today, just a quick my daily face post! 

This is kinda my go to look at the moment for day to day stuff!

So I start off with Benefit Porefessional and That Gal primers mixed together to create a dewy, yet long wearing base. I mix the two on my hand and then use my fingers to smooth it over my skin. I'm currently testing out the YSL Teint Touche Eclat foundation, in shade B10. This is a great gel based foundation that's got medium coverage and stays put all day. I use the Real Techniques Pointed foundation brush to apply this, I'm currently in love with this brush! 

Concealer wise, I use the Illamasqua Under Eye Concealer to mask those tell-tale bags from a sleepless night. I use the Real Tech. Detailer brush to apply it, and then blend it out with my fingers. It's a great concealer for brightening up the area, it doesn't give much coverage though! I'm still loving the MAC Studio Finish concealer for any blemishes, and around my nose area.

After that, I dust Rimmel's Stay Matte Powder in Translucent over my face to set, with the Real Tech Buffing brush. Love this stuff. Nothing else to say!

I did a little contouring today, using the Real Tech Contour brush to blend Elf's Warm Bronzer and MAC Archie's Girls Pearlmatte Face Powder in Flatter Me into my cheeks. Are you picking up a love for Real Tech yet?

Face done and I move onto the eyes. Using Benefit's Stay Don't Stray as a base, I cover my lid in NARS Frosted Ginger with my MAC 215 brush. This is a limited edition brush so I don't know if it's still available, but I love it! I then use the Real Tech Deluxe Crease brush to blend Shimmering Copper into the crease. Finish with lashings of my new YSL Shocking mascara (review coming soon).

Then, out comes the scary looking MAC Mineralize Lipstick in All Out Gorgeous. For a night out I'd swish this all around my lips nice and heavy, but for a day look I pat it gently into my lips, and use my Body Shop lip brush to even out the colour. 

Finish with a spritz of MAC Fix+!

Missing my weird ass cat. Selfie out of boredom. Outfit of the day, vintage skirt, Topshop knitted jumper, scarf from Camden Market, Next leather jacket. I think the boyfriend might be secretly moving in!

Cheeky treats in bed. Teeline will be the death of me. Trying to pack beauty products for a month back home! Can't bare the thought of a month without my Muji storage, so it's coming!

Amazing sandwiches with dad! Lunch in front of the fireplace. Sleepy kitty! My room is being redecorated, so sleeping in the spare room with all my possessions!

Coffee catch up with my best friend. Yummy Dominos and Comic Relief! My dad is moving in under my bed! New white walls, and new fluffy carpet!

Getting my rock chick on for a concert. Completely forgot about this palette of mashed up lipsticks, they need some loving! Saw Halestorm for the second time, and they were incredible! The offending drumstick that hit me in the head...

It's been a bit of a weird week. I'm back home now but my parents decided to redecorate my room, so all my stuff is in boxes and I don't know where anything (except my bottle of Jameson!) is! It's my dad's birthday today, so we've had family round all day and we are off out for dinner tonight! It's my birthday tomorrow, and I'm off shopping with my parents and my boyfriend for the day! So you may or may not get a blog post from me tomorrow! We'll see!

All the Little Things.

I'm in debit card imposed spending ban hell at the moment, so there's been a distinct lack of new stuff in my life, which makes me really quite sad. However, some unused Boots points and a package I forgot about have brightened up my sad, non-spending world this week, so I thought I'd show you what I have acquired!

First up, I used my Boots points to repurchase the Rimmel Scandaleyes pencils in Taupe and Nude. I've already done a review of these this week, so click here if you want to know more!

You may or may not be aware, but I came back to Bournemouth this week for a month, paise uni holidays for being so long! Anyway, I arrived home to two slightly chewed (bad kitty's) packages, that I forgot I ordered. The first one was a set of dotting tools from Amazon, that were a penny. Yes a penny. So I snapped those up straight away! I haven't given them a test run yet, but when I do, I'll let you know what theyre like. The second package was two items I ordered from the lovely Gemma from Missmakeupmagpie in her blog sale. They were both brand new but half price! That was the MAC Fix+ spray, and the Illamasqua Under Eye concealer. I haven't tried the Illamasqua Under Eye concealer yet, but when I do I shall give you a full review! All I can tell you at the moment is it's a pinky white cream concealer, and the packaging is gorgeous! As for the Fix+, I haven't tried out all it's functions yet, but I love the dewy look it gives my skin, and how refreshing it is!

And last but not least, my lovely little sister saw these socks in Tesco and thought of me! They're super warm and so cute!

It's my birthday on Monday, (gah, I don't wanna be nineteen!) so you never know, I may have some new things to show you next week!

Lip Lover

I'll admit it, I'm a lipbalm hoarder. I buy tons of the stuff. I have it in my handbag, in my bathroom, in my coat pockets, on my bedside table, and in a little jar that lives on my shelves. (The jar was like, £2 in Tesco, if you were wondering.)

But they all do different things, I promise! A lot of them I don't even use as lip balm.

 

 Of course, I have a stash of Vaseline. Well, it would be rude not to. I use the Original one for cuts and scrapes, the Cocoa butter one for my cuticles, I massage the Aloe Vera one into my feet after a long day of wearing heels, and Rosy lips, well that one actually makes it onto my lips. Weird I know. 

I've spoken about Soap and Glory's Smooch operator before, it's basically my go to one, lives in my handbag for any dry lipped emergencies! It's a lovely formula and smells great!

The Body Shop lip butter smells like sweets and all that is good in the world. I keep this one on my bedside table and load my lips up with it before bed, it's great for intense hydration, and matte lippy prep! The Figs and Rouge balm came in a Glossybox and I can't stand the smell so I don't use it. I'm actually going to give it to my dad for his dry elbows (don't ask, it's weird...).

I really feel every girl should have a flavoured lip smacker. They do literally nothing at all for your lips, but the sure taste good. And smell good. Great for an impromptu makeout sesh. The Blistex Soothing balm is my ultimate winter must have, fixes those chapped lips right up! The boyfriend pinches this alllll the time. I love the Jason's Aloe and Beeswax balm, but it weirdly tastes a little minty, and I don't like mint, so it's a use sparingly one! I got my mum to bring me back some Baby Lips from the US last month and I love it, hydrating with a little shimmer! Doesn't everyone have a tube of Chapstick somewhere? I think this was a Katy Perry inspired purchase! Blistex Lip Brilliance is great for those days when your lips need a little TLC but you want some colour too. I often top that with Rosy Lips Vaseline!

The Unsung Heroes

So I'm headed back home today (hurrah!) and the contents of my little flat is all packed up since there isn't much I just can bare to leave behind for a whole month! I actually thought I'd be going home last night, so I was going to post from there, but plans change and so on, so I thought I'd show you a few products that I use on a daily basis, but never really get mentioned. 

First up is the Original Source Vanilla Milk and Raspberry shower gel. I feel kinda wrong calling this a shower gel, it's more like a shower cream. Anyway, I have my Soap and Glory and my Body Shop shower gels, which I love, but I still turn to this a lot of the time, especially when I need a little comforting. The fragrance is beautiful, it's utterly edible, I challenge you to smell this in a store and not buy it, it's gorgeous. It's also super hydrating, and leaves you feeling clean, whilst still feeling smooth, and a little pampered. And it's super cheap, last time I bought some, I think it was about £2? This is the one shower product that I always repurchase when I run out, I feel quite lost without it. 

Next up, this is the travel spray of Gucci Guilty, which is a pretty strong fragrance, that takes some time to get your head around. I was actually given this as a little gift from one of my parents' friends, and when I first smelt it I wasn't all that keen, but it's one of those fragrances that you sort of need to spray in front of you and walk through, so it's not too strong, and it smells a lot better when it's been on your skin for half an hour or so. I'm not very good at describing scents, so I'd look that up, but I keep it in my handbag for impromptu evenings out, since I think it's a little strong for the day! 

So I may have mentioned this before in 'What's on my Face' sorta post, but this basically goes everywhere with me, and it JUST WON'T DIE. It's the MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC15, a very thick, high coverage concealer that just keeps going and going. I've used so much of this and barely made a dent in the pot. It's a great, heavy duty concealer, perfect for any blemishes, and it's the only concealer that can cover a little pink scar on my cheek. And it will stay put all day. Seriously, go out and buy it.
