Haven't you heard? In the blogging world now, one product is just not enough. No, no, no, it's all about mixing products together to get an 'uber-product' if you will. And I have to say I'm inclined to agree. Mixing products means the end result can be a combination of all your favourite features, of several different formulas. I've dabbled at mixing lip products, I've blended a few cream shadows, but what I have perfected, is my base.

Smashbox's Photo Finish primer* was the first of these primers I acquired. For getting your makeup to stay put all day, it's the best, but... that's kinda all it does. Also, despite being oil free, I do find that it can make my skin feel oilier after wearing it. So added to this, goes Benefit's The Porefessional. This is a great mattifying product, so helps counteract the 'oiliness' of Photo Finish, without compromising on longevity.
I've been favouring a dewier look on my skin recently, so in goes a splodge of Benefit That Gal brightening face primer. I love the glowing look this gives my skin, but it's not all that great as a primer, so mixing it in with the others helps that. As for Stay Don't Stray, this is technically an eye primer, but adding a squirt of this in doesn't hurt. I like adding it in since it's coloured, so helps to even out your skin tone pre-foundation, and also is pretty good at enhancing the colour of blushes, highlights and bronzers. However, it's pretty drying, so you definitely wouldn't want to cover your face in it!

Then it's on to foundations! As I said, I'm prefering a dewier, lighter coverage, more natural looking skin at the moment, but I don't want to compromise on that 'flawless finish'. When applied with the Real Techniques buffing brush, Rimmel's Wake Me Up gives me close to perfect skin. However, despite being the lightest shade, this colour doesn't work for me, it's too dark. Enter MUA's Undress Your Skin Foundation. This gives super light coverage, it's much more like a tinted moisturiser, and it's very light, so mixing this in means that the result is much closer to my natural skin colour. L'Oreal's Lumi Magique is a nice foundation, but on it's own I find the result a little too shiny on my skin, however, I love the feel of this, it makes my skin feel super soft, and the light reflecting qualities add to the dewy effect I'm searching for, it just needs to be a little muted! Last but not least, I add in a little of the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum. I love the coverage this gives, the smell, and the feel on my skin, but it's a little too heavy, cakey even, on my skin. Blended together however, these products give a dewy, light coverage foundation, that still gives the impression of flawless skin.

I tend to use several concealers anyway, since I have yet to find my holy grail concealer. To me, the perfect concealer would cover dark circles and blemishes with ease, be moisturising and maybe slightly highlighting, whilst not creasing on the skin. I look to Benefit Boi-ing for coverage, but it needs a little help from Rimmel's Match Perfection 2-in-1 concealer/highlighter to not dry out the skin, or crease under your eyes. I add Rimmel's Wake Me Up concealer into the mix to brighten the whole thing up, and voila! Imperfections be gone!
