Easy Like Sunday Morning

Connor and I are so busy these days that, mostly, the time we do get to spend together is spent sleeping. With Con in the final months of his Masters degree, and only a few weeks to go until I launch my new business, quality time spent together is almost a distant memory.

Last week we decided enough was enough, and that we needed to do something together, even if it was only a little something. So on Saturday night we nipped into Tesco (wild, I know) and picked up an assortment of our favourite breakfast foods.

When we awoke on Sunday, Connor nipped round the corner to Starbucks and picked up two giant coffees, and then picked up a copy of the Guardian for me on the way back, whilst I busied myself arranging the food we'd picked up the night before on trays.

When he got back, we climbed back into bed in our dressing gowns, for a slow Sunday morning feast!

A Vanilla White Mocha for me and a Caramel Macchiatto for Con - both Venti of course. You better believe that my coffee has to pretty much come in an IV to get me out of bed on a Sunday. Connor said the barista recognised him as my boyfriend, and when he went to order my drink she said 'And a soy vanilla white mocha for your girlfriend, right?'. Probably a sign I need to go to Starbucks a little less.

With my current favourite Spotify playlist on in the background, we tucked into breakfast, whilst flicking through the paper together, chatting about the articles. I had a big bowl of my favourite granola, topped with greek yogurt with honey and a half a ton of berries, followed by all the pastries, and Con went for a very British option of Scones.

We probably only spent an hour at the most together before getting dressed and settling down at our desks for the day, but it was honestly the best start to the day!

Dates don't have to cost a fortune, or take all day, sometimes the little moments together mean more!

P.S. The gorgeous hand lettering on these images is courtesy of my super talented best friend Daphne! Keep your eyes peeled for more of these!
