So here's my 2013 Lust List in all it's glory. As I'm sure you can imagine, my full list is spilling out of my Filofax, but if you were to ask me off the top of my head, here is what I would say! The McQueen ring is a pipe dream I'm afraid, unless anyone starts to feel crazy generous around my birthday (or any other time of year for that matter.)

Do you guys have anything you want to try this year?

Bad Blogger Alert.

I shall apologise now for my complete abandonment of this blog for the Christmas period. As well as starting an increased dose of my tablets which sent me into a lovely world of horrendous side effects, I've been suffering with feeling like an overstuffed Christmas turkey, thanks to all the food in the house.
I hope you've all had a fabulous Christmas! I sure have, Father Christmas has been particularly kind to me this year, and after three months living in London, it's been great to spend time with my family!

As well as an array of beauty products which I shall (hopefully) be posting about these tonight, I was also the grateful recipient of a shiny new Product Red iPod Nano, and a new desktop computer for blogging! So you never know, when I'm back home you might be getting to see lots of fancy photoshopping here! Fingers crossed!

My dad also surprised my mum, sister and I with new iPhone 5's! So now when I take photos and I don't have my camera with me, the photos will be better quality!

I've been loving the sales this year, I got some great beauty bargains! Have you guys found anything in the sales?

I'll be heading home to London on Thursday, so I'll be back in the swing of blogging soon!

Between now and then, I'll be having a quiet New Years Eve with a friend, trying out some cocktail recipes! So look forward to some recipes in the New Year!

Have you guys made any New Years Resolutions yet? I've started to make a few, when I decide I'll tell you!

Hope you guys enjoy the rest of your holidays!

A Little Christmas Photo Update!

Hope you have all had a great Christmas!

My travel bag!

I love getting to go away for a weekend, it's a great excuse to try out all the sample sized products I get! This weekend, I'm heading up to Crewe in Cheshire for a birthday party of one of my Mum's friends, so not only do I get a night in swanky Crewe Hall Hotel, but also a chance to test out some new products!

So here is what I'll be taking in my bag! I'm going to wear my trusty black H&M skinny jeans tomorrow night, their the only black jeans I've ever had that held their colour! Plus they fit amazingly, they hug my butt and show off what all that walking up and down in tube stations has done! I'm going to pair this with a new shirt I picked up in Sainsbury's of all places! I've been looking for a shirt with studs on, and this is a beautiful sheer Oxblood Red colour (it doesn't show up great in these pictures) and it was only £19.99! I'm going to wear this with my gold and black Primark bangles (£3.00) and my trusty black heeled military boots. I'll be taking a plain white tee to pair with the jeans to wear the next day, to minimise how much I have to take! I'm learning the art of light packing!

I plan on wearing my hair curled and pinned up in an 'undone bun' tomorrow night, so I'm taking Batiste's dark and deep brown dry shampoo, to revive my roots and give it a little oomph and bounce after a long day's traveling! I'll be chucking my glasses in my bag too, as after a late night, my eyes tend to struggle!

Makeup-wise, I'll be packing my new favourite foundation, Benefit's Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow in Ivory! This foundation is incredible, it's light enough to provide flawless coverage with very little liquid needed! I mix their "That Gal" highlighting primer into the foundation for a dewy, fresh faced look. The combination of these two products is great for a daytime or nighttime look!
I want to rock a pretty natural face with a bold lip tomorrow, so I'll be wearing The Body Shop's Shimmer Cubes in natural on my eyes, and a little YSL Touche Éclat, with Benefit's They're Real mascara. I love these shimmer cubes, they're great for creating a nude smoky eye, to wear in the day, or at night with a bold lip.
My bold lip of choice is MAC's Matte Ruby Woo Lipstick. This is my perfect red lip, it has great staying power, and it really suits my skin tone. When I wear this lipstick, I always wear a little of Sleek's Blush in 935  'flushed'. It just makes the lip look more suited to my face! I'll also be chucking in Stila's Lip Glaze in Apricot, for the next day!

Also, I'll be throwing in my cosy Primark pj bottoms, as I'm sharing a hotel room with my mum! I'll be packing Lady Gaga's The Fame as this is my favourite fragrance this winter!

I picked up this glitzy headband in Accessorize today, to wear in the evening! I wanted to add a little sparkle to my outfit, since it's nearly Christmas and all! I thought about getting sparkly hairgrips, but I figured I would probably wear this more! Accessorize has a great range of hair accessories, to add a little sparkle to your Christmas party wear! They've received quite mixed reviews from bloggers, but I LOVE my Tangle Teezer, and my handbag sized one will be slipping into my bag!

I picked up this sample in Benefit last week after having my makeup done at their stand in House of Fraser, and am really excited to try it out! It claims to be intensely moisturising, which I could do with, since the winter weather is getting to my skin! Also, it's a great sized sample, I think it will give me enough moisturiser for the evening and morning!

Lastly on my list is Soap and Glory's Peaches & Clean cleansing milk. I picked this up on a Boots 3 for 2 last week, and haven't used it enough to review it yet! But I like it's unusual smell, and I hope that the Poreshrinker Technology really works!

Winter Beauty Must-Haves Haul!

1. Neutrogena Norwegian Formula hand cream, 2. St Ives Blemish Fighting face scrub, 3. Aussie Miracle Colour Insurance leave in conditioner, 4. Batiste Hint of Colour Dark Brown dry shampoo, 5. Tresemmé Salon Shine Glossing Spray Argan Oil, 6. Models Own 4 way nail buff, 7. OPI Nail Varnish in Lincoln Park at Midnight, 8. Lady Gaga The Fame perfume, 9. Salon System Thai Oil.

With the weather getting colder, my skin and hair are getting drier,
so here are my most used beauty products, to keep my hair and skin soft,
and my other beauty picks this December!

  1. This hand cream doesn't ever fail to soften my skin up! You only need the tiniest amount to replenish all the moisture lost out in the cold weather!

  2. This face scrub is working miracles, the water in Bournemouth is very different to the water in London, and switching between the two normally causes breakouts, but this is keeping my skin in tip-top shape!

  3. After my hair bleaching disaster, I'm on the hunt for anything that will soften up my hair. Spraying this into the ends of my locks before styling makes it a lot more managable!

  4. For second day hair, with no unshiftable white marks!

  5. I spray this on my hair when damp and once dry to help replenish the oils, if I don't use it there's a noticeable difference!

  6. Perfect nails in four easy steps!

  7. I love this colour! It's quite forgiving if you make a mistake, and stays put for at least a week!

  8. I really like this scent! It's quite strong so one spray to the neck and the wrists is plenty, but it has a great wintery smell!

  9. I massage this oil into my hair before bed, and wash it out the next morning, and my hair is so silky!

1."Hello Flawless" custom powder cover up by Benefit, 2. Shimmer Cubes in Honeycomb, Dark Chocolate, Choc Chip and Marshmallow by The Body Shop, 3. Lip Glaze in 08 Apricot by Stila, 4. Sleek Blush in Flushed 935, 15. "Hello Flawless" Oxygen Wow Brightening foundation.

I use two different blushers, 12 and 14, I use number 12 in the day, because it's much lighter on the skin, and 14 at night because I love the creamy texture, but it doesn't stay put as long. Number 4 is a steadily growing collection, I love these lip pens, they hold all day, and you can vary the intensity of the colour easily! Number 10 is my foray into the Galactica trend, for striking metallic eyes! Stila Lip Glazes are a new obsession, number 3 is one of my favourite shades, it's such a lovely nude colour, it looks great with powerful eye makeup.

Spotlight On...

'Hello Flawless' Oxygen Wow Brightening Foundation by Benefit.

What it says on the box...
Hello...It's Flawless Time! It's you...just more luminous & healthy looking! Our brightening makeup builds from light to medium coverage for a natural complexion you can believe in. Goodbye imperfections hello flawless!
The Verdict...
This product does exactly as it says, I love it! You can wear it light and it gives you a luminescent, fresh look, or slightly heavier for a better coverage (it's completely covered a little spot on my jawline) with the same effect. The first time I wore this foundation, I got a lot of comments on how healthy my skin looked, and how even my skin tone was, so I'm sold! This product contains Vitamins C & E that help combat the signs of aging, and uses a Oxygen hydrating complex to 'plump up' your skin, making it look younger and healthier. And it contains SPF 25. Also, the handy pump dispenser means you never end up with too much, reducing wastage and making the product last longer! What more could you want?!

'That Gal' Highlighting Face Primer by Benefit.

What it says on the box...
Wear alone or under makeup for the look of bright, smooth skin.
The Verdict...
I don't generally wear this as a primer, I tend to mix this in with my foundation before applying (One part 'That Gal' to two parts foundation) for a brighter, dewier looking complexion! I love everything about this product, from the pretty packaging, to the iridescent pink formula, to the unique bottle. Adds a lovely glow to your skin. I also sometimes dab a little bit into the inner corner of my eyelid and under my eyebrows to brighten it up a bit! Totally worth the money!

'Hello Flawless' Custom Powder Cover Up by Benefit.

What it says on the box...
This silky powder cover-up glides on naturally sheer and layers
beautifully for customised coverage with SPF protection. Complete with
brush and sponge and dual application lesson.

The Verdict...
This is the perfect setting powder for the Benefit foundation, but is also great to wear alone. It provides the best, most natural looking coverage of any powder I've ever tried before! Plus I love the gorgeous box with it's mirror and little brush and sponge compartment! I generally chuck this in my bag wherever I'm going for touch ups!

What are your Winter Beauty Must-Haves? Have you tried any of these products?

London Life

So, I've officially been a Londoner for three months now! And although I love it here, and I'm really happy, there are a few things that I don't like about living here....

Having said all this, I'm glad I chose to move. My course is fantastic, if hard work, I love my little flat, and I've made some really great friends. London really is the place to study fashion, so no regrets!

Melted Snowmen!

meltingsnowmancookiesx

<
When I started this blog, I wanted it to not just be about fashion, and, as the name suggests, I wanted there to be a food element! I realised this week that I've been lacking in that, so I decided to try out a Christmas recipe and show you guys how it goes!

Now, it didn't quite go right...
This is how I thought they would look...

Cute right! This didn't happen.

What you will need.
- Biscuits (I used rich tea, but you can use any! I also tried a couple on chocolate digestives, and they tasted sooo good!)
- Icing Sugar
- Writing Icing (This was my first problem, I couldn't find anywhere that sold the right colours...so I ended up with pastel pink, yellow and white)
- Marshmallows
You can also choose to use extras as the Snowmans buttons, I picked up some coloured sugar stars.

Now the first step is to add a little bit of white writing icing to the biscuit, to secure the marshmallow in place, on the biscuit, then you drizzle on icing sugar, to create the snow.

Once you've allowed the icing to half set, decorate!
This is where mine went all wrong.

These look nothing like my pretty picture! They look terrifying! The icing moved all the features around, and now they look melted and distorted! My snowmen did not melt as prettily as the examples!
However, they taste amazing!

If any of you have a go, tweet me your finished product! Clearly, this is not my forte, and I'd love to see how you guys get on!

Vapiano UK

Hidden away in prime real estate, just behind Oxford Circus, Vapiano is a modern take on Italian dining.

I don't know what I love more about this place, it's chilled out atmosphere, the fantastic food, the entertainment value of watching their master chefs cook your meal, or the gummy bears on the way out.

Vapiano operates a unique ordering system. On arrival, you'll be given a card, which you take with you to order your food, tap the machine, and then pay on the way out. Their downstairs kitchen front is divided into three sections. Antipasti and salads, pizza and pasta, where you can order your food, and then watch them create it. Vapiano make all their pasta fresh on a daily basis, and you can choose what kind, with so many options available, including spelt pasta for the health conscious among us! You can add extra chilli or garlic, and have a side of freshly baked bread with your pasta for no extra cost, and jugs of water sit on the bars, with mint and lime in for an extra fresh taste. Even their salad dressings are handmade everyday.

Tagliatelle Tacchino Piccante and Pappadelle Bolognese

And the best thing is, the food tastes fantastic! Since discovering this restaurant I have tried their Bruschetta, salads, Bolognese, Ravioli Rucola and Tacchino Piccante, and I've loved every single one!

This place is perfect for any occasion, I've seen birthday parties, business lunches, students, dates and family meals here, and it's reasonable prices mean that it's great for everyone!

My only complaints with this restaurant were;
1.) The second time I went was a Monday lunchtime, and I still spent 25 minutes queuing to order my pasta...
2.) I ordered a drink when I ordered my starter, then when we went to order my main, a member of staff cleared our drinks, despite them being almost full, and our bags, coats and phones all still being on the table. I tweeted about this and recieved a reply from Vapiano, stating "Will mention it -sorry. We do urge people NOT to leave bags & phones unattended, just better to be safe" This of course is completely reasonable of them, however the issue wasn't with my stuff, it was about our missing paid for drinks! I feel like it's a little silly to expect patrons to carry all their stuff and their drinks up to order food, and then probably have to find another table with a main course.

Despite all this, I will continue to return to Vapiano when I fancy Italian food. I love that everything is made and cooked fresh on the day, it's reasonable, and the food is great! Would definitely reccommend this restaurant to anyone!

Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland.

Having German blood coursing through my veins, I have visited many a Christmas Market in my time. This year is my first Christmas in London, and I didn't really expect much in the way of traditional German markets. I expected more commercialized displays, and overpriced technology. And when I heard about Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland, I was expecting rides, ice skating and a bar with beer and mediocre 'mulled wine' (it's glühwein you idiots).

But I was presently surprised by Hyde Park's German Market. Especially when I ordered my onion and bacon potatoes (my favourite thing about being part German) and the woman could barely understand me, and through her thick German accent asked if I wanted Sauerkraut too.
Winter Wonderland, as cliche as it sounds, literally has something for everyone. It's free entry, so an evening out doesn't have to cost a fortune. There's every kind of fairground ride you could hope for, a carousel bar, traditional German food and drink stands, and a traditional German market. There was even a bar area where a pensioner DJ is singing Gangnam Style. Proper Glühwein and hot cider is available at every turn, and gingerbread hearts adorn the necks of children.

But I was just really pleased to see traditional gifts available! It's rare to see more than one stand of these in English markets, and there were some beautifully handcrafted gifts there!

Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland is open from 10am til 10pm every day until January 6th.
