Long time no speak! It's been a manic few weeks, packing up and moving back to London, going back to Uni and being ill, I've barely had time to wash my hair, never mind blog.
Now that I'm back in London I really want to make the effort to share a little more here. The whole point of starting this blog was for me to get out and do more, and create a little record of my time in London.
With that in mind I thought I'd share some snaps from my anniversary last month! September 25th marks four years of my boyfriend putting up with me, so we wanted to make an effort to put aside some time to spend together! You'd think that living together would mean that we see each other all the time, but conflicting Uni schedules and the workload that comes with it means we rarely get to spend quality time together!
He surprised me by booking us in for afternoon tea at a fancy hotel near Kensington. Totally out of character, he's more of a greasy burgers and beer sorta guy, than finger sandwiches and tea, but I've been banging on about wanting to go for ages! We had a feast of prosecco, raspberry tea, sandwiches, scones, cakes and macarons. The carrot cake was a definite plus for me, it's totally my favourite! It was nice to do something different, and the waiter insisted on taking a photo of us, cue awkward smiles!
We were pretty full after that so a stroll through Kensington Gardens was needed to burn off a few calories & food babies. I've always wanted to see the Peter Pan Statue so that's something ticked off my list of things to do in London!
Next stop, an impromptu visit to Somerset House. We were actually using it as a cut through from the tube station, but an exhibit caught my eye so we ended up having a look. It was called Time, and they basically challenged a group of tattoo artists to create a piece of art on anything except skin, using Time as their inspiration. It was a pretty cool exhibit, and it was good to see tattoo art being recognised in an art gallery!
Connor had planned to take me to a rooftop bar on The Strand for a cocktail or two after but it was closed for an event, so we ended up strolling up to Covent Garden, grabbing a drink in the Punch & Judy pub (Peroni for the boy, Passion Fruit Rekorderlig for me) and sitting out on the terrace watching the street performers. By the time we left the combination of prosecco and cider left me feeling a little light headed, so we made the most of the last of the September sun, and ate noodles in the sun in Soho.
BABES ;-; (You two are too cute together, and congrats on the four years!!)
ReplyDeleteBut, the brownies are more attractive than the two of you put together so excuse me while I stare at that for a while. Sorry not sorry.
