I love how a good bold lip can look, but sometimes it's really hard to get the right base. A bold lip can wash you out, highlight uneven skin tones, make under eye bags look more prominent, so a good base is an essential part of the bold lip routine.
I've got two budget options and two luxury options for you, that work perfectly with bold lips.
Starting with the most budget friendly, Rimmel Match Perfection, a good option for everyday since it has a good buildable coverage. This stuff really helps create an even complexion, and it wears pretty evenly throughout the day. It's long lasting and it's pretty easy to work with. You can sheer it out or build it up, so it's a great pick.
My other drugstore go to is the Max Factor Face Finity Foundation, my go to for high coverage at a good price. This stuff covers everything, but can be a little drying. It's fantastically long lasting, it just doesn't disappear, no matter how much you sweat, and it photographs really well. A fantastic option.
For a pricier option, the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation is amazing. It's got less coverage than the rest of these options, but it just does something to the skin, makes it all glowy and gorgeous and looks fantastic. You can build up the coverage, but you don't necessarily need to. I wouldn't be without this in my stash.
And finally, the Jouer Matte Moisture Tint. This stuff covers everything, but looks light and natural on the skin. It stops any shine coming through, but it doesn't look overly matte or powdery on the skin. I can't rave about this stuff enough, it's just skin magic.
One of the worst things you can do when wearing a bold lip is wearing a foundation too light for you, it can make you look super washed out, so make sure you're foundation is a good match for you!
