Must Haves from MAC

Ahh MAC. I didn't really get into MAC makeup until I started Uni, but once I got started I got hooked. There are a few things from MAC that I've tried that really don't work for me, and a lot of things that really do. I did a post nearly a year ago now, where I spoke about the hits and misses (you can read that here), but today I thought I'd talk about the things I really think you need.

Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade: I've waxed lyrical on this before, but it really deserves it. I can wear this lightly as a setting powder, or use it under my eyes and along the tops of my cheekbones to really add light into the area. I've had this forever and barely put a dent in it, but it's an absolute makeup bag staple for me, I wouldn't be without it.

Studio Finish Concealer: The perfect spot concealer. It's pretty dry so it stays put all day, and it's got incredibly high coverage. It's easy to blend out (I use a mini Eco Tools Buffing brush to blend it) and it just completely hides spots. It also lasts forever.

Mineralize Concealer: One of my favourites for highlighting the undereye area. It's light on the skin but it's got a good medium/buildable coverage. This makes a massive difference to the appearance of my skin, especially on Monday mornings!

Mineralize Skinfinish in Stereo Rose: Such a cliche because everyone raves about this. It's limited edition and every time it's released in a collection it sells out really fast, and for good reason. It's a pretty subtle on the cheeks, it's not a bright blush, but it just adds a gorgeous pink, bronzed, golden glow to the skin. Until you've tried it it's hard to explain, but it's just beautiful.

Satin Taupe Eyeshadow: I have 10 MAC eyeshadows now, and whilst I like them all, they're pretty expensive and I do think they're all pretty dupable. The one I do think is worth the splurge however, is Satin Taupe, which I have yet to find a shadow that comes close to. A beautiful sheeny taupe with a hint of purple in the right light, this is one of those shadows you can just smudge across the eye with very little effort and it looks good. The wear time is fantastic and it's incredibly easy to blend. A winner for me.

Lipsticks: I'm gonna be pretty broad here because lets face it, when it comes to colours, finishes and formulas, MAC have it down like no one else. Pretty much any lipstick you can think of, they have it. My collection is looking quite disgusting, but the two staples I wouldn't be without are Peach Blossom, a gorgeous peachy nude, and Syrup, a sheer berry shade perfect for autumn.
