Debenhams Blogger Competition!

The wonderful Aftab nominated to me to take part in the Debenhams A/W14 Blogger Competition, to design two outfits based around their key Autumn Winter trends. Now I'm no fashionista (don't let the fact I'm at fashion school fool you), but I've got a pretty distinct style (read: anything black), so I thought it'd be fun to put together a few outfits that were a little different but still reflect my style.

For the first outfit I picked the trend 'Blue Tones'. I love to add a little bit of edge to a girly look, so I picked this pretty Coast Ionia dress, I love the cut of it, and the way it hits just above the knee, being 5"10, the wrong cut can make me look like a giant. I paired it with this pleather John Rocha Biker Jacket, since I always pair dresses with my pleather jacket! I love how soft this one looks, and how it doesn't have too much hardware. Heeled boots are my go to for evenings out, so I picked out the Jasper Conran Zip Detail Boots, which have a subtle flash of navy, and pretty gold detailing.

On the accessories front, I'm all about clutch bags right now, so I chose the Faith Navy Patent Clutch, because who ever said that black and navy don't go together? I'm constantly guilty of carrying everything I own in my handbag, so I like to take a clutch in the evening to force me to carry less! I like this one because it's still a decent enough size to fit in the essentials. I also chose the John Richard Crystal Stone Leather Cuff.  I absolutely love cuff bracelets, I think they can add a real biker chic element to an outfit, and this one is gorgeous. And lastly to complete the look, one of my favourite perfumes, the Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream scent, floral, flirty and very girly, what more could you want?

Since Aftab is a male blogger (who doesn't wear womens clothes, shame, he'd look fantastic in this) and all the clothes were womens, I can't design him an outfit, but I can pick out something I know he'd like.

Whenever Aftab and I go shopping we are both always drawn to basically anything that is oxblood, so I picked the Pinks & Berries trend for this look! I started with the J by Jasper Conran Super Stretch Jeans, because damn they look comfy, and black skinnies should be a staple in every girl's wardrobe (they sure are in mine). I paired it with this gorgeous Principles Red Jacquard Rose Top, which I'm thinking I'm going to go buy this week. I love tops that are slightly sheer, I think they can look so sexy when done right! In keeping with the theme, these three gorgeous Floozie Rose Gold Stacked Rings, which are pretty drool worthy, and this Début Plum Baguette Bag, which looks soft enough to use as a pillow. Finish it off with Essie Shearling Darling Polish, which is one of my favourites for this time of the year, and the Redherring Dark Red Patent Toe Cap Pumps, because a girl can't wear heels all day!

Thanks for the nomination Aftab!
