September Favourites 2016

I know this is proper monthly favourites cliche, but can you believe that tomorrow is October? I'm simultaneously amazed and a little glad too, this year can do one in all honesty.

I sat down last night to make a list of my monthly favourites and to start with I really struggled. I haven't worn much makeup this month, and what I have worn has been pretty basic, mostly old favourites. But I started pottering around my room picking bits up and before I knew it, I had a good long list going. Products that are silent wonders, performing day after day and hitting the mark.

So let's ease ourselves in with a candle favourite from the month. A very nice friend of Connor's visited the States during the summer, and not only made a trip to Sephora for me, but also lugged back a selection of my favourite Bath and Bodyworks 3 wick candles too. What a star. Anyway, I've had Heirloom Pumpkin on my bedside table this month and I'm obsessed. It's such a warm, autumnal scent, and it not only fills my room, but also the rest of the house. My family like when I burn this one because the whole house smells great!

A couple of beauty bits worth a mention, I talked about Lush's Kalamazoo Face Wash in my Autumn Skincare Update, and whilst I still don't have a beard, I'm really loving this product. It's creamy and incredibly softening on the skin, and I've noticed a real difference in the brightness of my complexion too. Definitely worth a try - don't dismiss it because of the beard thing!

The Essie Good To Go Topcoat is the one product I knew for sure would be in my favourites this month. I love having a fresh mani, but I'm usually too impatient to sit still and let it dry, meaning I'm left with smudges or dents. Until this topcoat. It's thick and glossy, but it dries super fast, and wears really well - a week with no chips! I actually prefer this to Seche Vite, it's almost the same in consistency, but this doesn't go gloopy halfway through the bottle!

The Kat Von D Tattoo Liner is one of the products Con's friend picked up from Sephora for me. I've loved this for a long time, but having a fresh one has reignited my love for it. It's so easy to apply and has made me fall back in love with liquid liner.

And most of the month I've been reaching for Urban Decay's Lipstick in Ex Girlfriend. It's my perfect everyday nude, it's easy to apply, a really pretty colour and it's super comfortable on the lips. I've got this in the Gwen Stefani collection packaging, but it's available in the new Vice Lipstick collection.

I've been, for the most part, wearing my hair natural for the month, but I did want to give a shout out to the Bleach London Purple Conditioner. I love this for keeping the brassy tones out of my highlights, it does a great job without drying out my hair. It's affordable too - so it's a win win!

A couple of clothing items worth a mention too, I finally found an A-Line denim skirt that isn't too short for me, in Primark of all places. I love the frayed hem, the brassy buttons, and the giant pockets. And it was all of £8 so no complaints there either. I also wanted to shout out to my favourite mustard knit scarf, I barely took this off last Autumn and I think this year will be the same. It's long and cosy, and the perfect accessory for my Fall wardrobe. I actually bought this in Tesco for £6 last year, but if I can find something similar online I'll link it below.

If you follow me on Instagram you'll have seen me mention this backpack earlier on today. I've been on the hunt for a good backpack that fits my laptop and cameras in for when I'm working on the go, but I was struggling to find anything I liked. My sister was sorting out her wardrobe at the beginning of the month, and had chucked this in the charity shop pile, but I ended up pinching it. Not only is it the perfect size, I also think it's really darn cute, I love the tartan print and the faux leather details. It's a little worn in places so I can't see it lasting forever, but if it lasts the season I'll be happy, it feels very fall appropriate!

And of course, I couldn't do a monthly favourites without mentioning my new autumnal bedding! I am so obsessed with this brushed cotton duvet set, £19 to spruce up my room for Fall well spent! It's incredibly cosy and oh so cute!

I also wanted to give a little shout out to my friend Carrie who has been killing it on the blog front this month! She's one of my biggest inspirations as well as being a really bloody good friend. If you don't follow her already, you're missing out!

What have you been loving this month?
