Sometimes, Connor has some really dumb ideas. And sometimes, for reasons completely unbeknownst to me, I go along with them. That's exactly what happened last weekend when the rain was hammering down and the skies were looking pretty darn gloomy, and Con suggested we go walk the dog in the forest. Not the brightest of our ideas.
But I had a new lens to play with, a dog that desperately wanted out of the house (and a hankering for lunch from the Brockenhurst Bakery), so we bundled up in raincoats and headed to the New Forest.
It doesn't matter how much time I spend out in the forest, I'm still always amazed at how beautiful it is out there. Even with the rain and the wind, it was just gorgeous. Playing with my new zoom lens was perfect for getting shots of the animals without getting too close! It seems as well that when I'm kitted out in rainy weather gear and ski boots, I get a little braver when it comes to clambering around to get a good shot!
We turned around when poor Finn was shivering from the cold - not that he was having a bad time, he was pretty much divebombing puddles! I love my dog but he's so not cute when he's wet, he looks like a drowned rat, bless him!
I can't wait to spend more time in the forest once we're fully moved back! It's where Con and I met and spent most of our first two years together, so it's pretty special to me!
