Things To Do In London - Kerb Camden

I mentioned in this post that I've taken on a new client, the Louisiana Chilli Shack as part of the work I do as a freelance social media strategist. Louisiana Chilli Shack is currently based at the new Kerb Camden food market, right in the heart of Camden, so over the last few weeks I've gotten to spend a lot of time down at Kerb, and it's been so much fun!

For those who don't know, Kerb is a collection of 34 street food vendors based in Camden (they have a few other locations too). It's in a gorgeous location right on the canal, and I can honestly say all the food I've tried has been outstanding!

Starting with the food at Louisiana Chilli Shack - oh my oh my. It's very important to me that when I work with brands and companies on social media, they are a company I really believe in. And man do I believe in these guys. Two friends serving up authentic Louisiana soul food on the streets of London, everything they make is gluten free, and they have dairy free and vegan options too. I've tried the whole menu and love it all, but I have a special soft spot for the Voodoo Chicken & Cornbread pancakes!

It's been scorching hot in Central London recently, so last week when temperatures hit the mid thirties, I swung by Square Root Soda Shop for a drink, and man did it hit the spot. I opted for the Nojito - a mint limeade, and tried a few sips of Ghenet's Raspberry Lemonade too. They were ice cold, not too sweet and totally hit the spot. A little pricey at three pounds a go but so delicious and the perfect antidote to the sweltering heat. I'll definitely be picking up another at my next meeting!

After an early morning meeting at Kerb last week, Ghenet came and met me for lunch. We decided to grab a few different dishes from a few different traders and split them all and that was definitely a good decision.

The first thing we picked up, and my definite favourite, was a portion of Masala fries from Baba G's. Perfectly cooked fries, tossed in Masala, topped with Riatha and Mango Puree. One of the best things I've ever put in my face for sure.

We then swung by Toastits (great name) where we couldn't resist the open face sandwich with Avocado Parmesan Mash. Toasted artisan sourdough bread topped with a cheddar, parmesan, avocado mash, and a handful of rocket. So incredibly tasty, and so fresh!

After spotting the Pizza oven at Fundi Pizza, we couldn't resist ordering a Margherita too. Hand made in front of you and baked in their wood fire pizza oven for 90 seconds. It was incredibly delicious and I have to say, the service was fantastic here too!

And lastly (no, we didn't manage to eat all the food we ordered!), we picked up a portion of Halloumi Fries from Oli Baba's. Topped with yogurt, mint, pomegranate and a little chilli, these are every bit as delicious as you'd imagine. They're gluten free, and you get a really generous portion for your £5!

Kerb is a permanent installation at Camden market, if you're in the area I'd really recommend going down! There's definitely something for everyone and there are some seriously delicious dishes!
