Sometimes, you can really like a product, and then for no apparent reason, just change your mind on it. It happens a lot to me, sometimes I'll buy a product and not be that impressed, and then one day I'll suddenly fall for it, but today, I'm talking about the products I used to love, but now I'm not so sure.
First of all, let's talk about the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation. As a drugstore foundation this is great, good medium but buildable coverage, natural looking on the skin and it's got a good wear time to boot. However, over the last few months I've found that it it's so heavily scented that a) it makes my stomach turn, and b) it breaks me out. It's a shame since as far as drugstore foundations go, this is one of the better ones, but it's just not working for me anymore.
Benefit Boi-ing Concealer was one of my first high end purchases, it's marketed as an industrial-strength concealer, and I must have liked it to start with since I've hit pan on it! However, I now find that despite the good coverage, this actually slips off quite quickly and leaves that blemish you painstakingly covered in the morning shining in all it's glory after a couple of hours.
This one will be controversial, but I have completely gone off the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze. I don't like to wear this on it's own any more since I find it starts to sheer out after a couple of hours, and I don't use it as a base because it's too shimmery to apply shadow over. It's a shame because it's a gorgeous colour, but I'd rather reach for the Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Paint in Rich Russet, which wears much better.
And last but not least Batiste Dry Shampoo. I'm pretty sure there was a point in time where if you wanted dry shampoo, Batiste was your only option, and then it was great. However, now there are so many dry shampoos out there that not only make your hair look clean, but they make it feel clean too.
I'm sure some of you probably love these products, but for me they just don't work well anymore. Have you ever changed your mind on a product?
I do this from time to time, sometimes I find products I hate from day one and then I give them another go and absolutely fall in love with them :)Roo xxmeplusmymakeup.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteBatiste is okay but I always return to my Klorane dry shampoo with oat milk. It really is far, far superior. Still loving the bronze Maybelline Color Tattoo though, but mine has hardened a bit with time which is annoying.
ReplyDeleteI often change my mind on a product, but for me it's mostly the other way around - i don't like it to start with, but then go back to it, and love it! xA Little Treat | Beauty & Lifestyle Blog
ReplyDeleteI've always had a love-hate relationship with Batiste and looks like that I'm falling out of love with it now! Would love some recommendations of alternatives from you!x Anita @ AllThingsAnita
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the Batiste, but I've never really liked it. I try to though, I bought a few bottles, but I prefer the Klorane one!
ReplyDeletei used to only use batiste dry shampoos but i agree there are so many better ones out there now! it's the same with the colour tattoos - so many more cream eyeshadows available now xxmollyox.blogspot.co.uk
ReplyDeleteNot going to lie, I'm a Batiste fan girl. It makes my hair look great without white casthttp://www.mercuteify.com/
ReplyDeleteBatiste, I'm so on board with your view on that. When it was the only dry shampoo available i thought it was the bees knees! Now, compared to all the others on the market, it's just powdery and a bit funky smelling! lol Lis xwww.elisabethrilatt.com
ReplyDeleteYeah me too, it's strange how your product tastes change so much! xx
ReplyDeleteThat's good, at least they aren't wasted then! xx
ReplyDeleteI can't get the Klorane dry shampoo here :( But I do love the Dove dry shampoo, it's much better than Batiste! Yeah I think mine has too which might be why I don't like it anymore, I feel like all I get from it is shimmer!
ReplyDeleteI do that too! x
ReplyDeleteI did a post on dry shampoos a few weeks back, http://www.bedinthekitchen.co.uk/2014/02/the-dry-shampoo-battle.html but my absolute favourite is the Dove dry shampoo! xx
ReplyDeleteI really want to try the Klorane one but I can't find anywhere that stocks it :(
ReplyDeleteI think that's it, they were the first on the market but other brands have improved on them now! xx
ReplyDeleteNars is SO much better! Yeah I'm not sure about it to be honest, it might be going to my sister! x
ReplyDeleteI still love a lot of Benefit products but I've totally gone off Boi-ing! Yeah it's a weird one but I think there are much better products out there now! x
ReplyDeleteI find it makes my hair look really really grey :( and if I get rid of the grey it looks clean but feels dirty!
ReplyDeleteAhh that's good then! xx
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not the only one! x
ReplyDeleteI am still a fan of Batiste, they have launched lots of new scents...which actually smell nice. It is perfect for my blonde hair and I also love the volume range.www.pinkpolkadotandpopcorn.com
ReplyDeleteOh that's a bummer! Here in Canada they stock it at most drugstore.
ReplyDeleteI find that if I don't like something I tend to keep it, go back to it a few weeks later and then try it again, and sometimes I like them and if I don't I'll get rid of it! x
ReplyDeleteThat's good that they work for you! I just find the Dove dry shampoo makes my hair feel much cleaner!
ReplyDeleteI agree about Batiste, when I first got it I was like AHHH THIS IS SO GOOD but after a few uses it began to feel awful on my hair and it made me paranoid it was damaging my hair!Danniella xwww.famousinjapan.co.uk
ReplyDeleteI feel you girl. IT'S A NO FROM ME.
