How Much Does My Face Cost Tag
I've been putting off doing this tag for forever, since I knew it was going to hurt to see, but curiosity got the better of me, and I just had to find out. I'd just like to point out, I got a lot of this stuff on offer, or with vouchers, or as gifts, so I didn't actually spend £425.47! I've kind of also turned this into a daily face post too, so if you want to know about that, read on!
So I've split this into face products, and then eyes and lips! So here goes!
This section was quite a shocker for me! I start with The Body Shop's Seaweed day cream and Vitamin C Eye Reviver Duo, which cost £8 and £12 respectively. This is the perfect base for makeup, and it makes my skin soft and supple! From there, I combine Benefit's Porefessional (£23.50) and That Gal (£21.50) to prime my skin. The Porefessional gives me a great smooth base, and That Gal brightens up my complexion. I then use The Body Shop's foundation brush (£12.00) to apply Benefit's Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation all over my face. Before I set with powder, I use Benefit's Boi-ing (£16.50) around my eyes, and MAC's Studio Finish concealer (£14.00) on any unwelcome visitors. I use Eco Tools Limited Edition powder kabuki brush to buff on Benefit's Hello Flawless powder (£24.50). I've talked a lot about these foundations, I really like them, and if you're in the market for a new foundation, this one is definitely worth checking out!
From there, I move to highlighters! My brow bones and cheek bones are adorned with Benefit's Watts Up (£24.50) and my under eyes are dabbed with YSL's Touché Éclat (£25.00). I find this is the best combination for brightening up my face! I top Watts Up with good old Sugarbomb, my favourite corally, pinky daywear blush, even if at £23.50 it's hardly purse friendly! I apply this one of of the other Eco Tools kabuki brushes, a set that cost me a mere £6.99.
Now is it just me, or does that seem like very little makeup for that hefty price tag! On to the rest of the face!
Once my skin is as flawless as I can get it, I move swiftly on to adding a little colour. I use the Naked 2 palette, and the Real Techniques slanted brow brush to shape and fill in my eyebrows. I use the shade 'Tease' most of the time! I then use other Real Techniques brushes to apply Bootycall into my inner lids to brighten them up! The Naked 2 cost £36.00 and the Real Techniques set is a mere £20.99 on eBay!
At the moment my daily eye consists of smearing the contents of NARS eyeshadow duo in Isolde (£24.00 eeek!) across my lids in a gentle smoke. I then add a thin liner to my upper lid, using Pixi Liner, £11.00. On top of that I buff a little of MAC's Mineralize eye shadow in Gilt By Association (£16.50) across the lash line. I usually use a Real Techniques brush for that!
I use Max Factor's Kohl liner on my inner waterlines, a steal at £4.99, and then wiggle They're Real mascara through my lashes, heartbreaking at £18.50.
So all that leaves is my lips, I cover them in Soap and Glory's Smooch Operator (£6.00) around ten minutes before I apply my lipstick, MAC's satin finish in Faux! At fourteen pounds, that brings the eyes/lips total up to an alarming £199.98!
So having done all this, I actually feel a bit sick. What hits me, is that this is probably less than a quarter of my makeup collection, and it doesn't even consider scrubs, face washes, night treatments, spot treatments, nail varnishes, tweezers, nail files, and a whole host of other beauty products that I have stacked up in assorted boxes, bags and shelves in my flat!
Have any of you guys done this tag? Is anyone's total higher than mine?!

Great post!!! I love this tag :) xoxo Marina
ReplyDeleteMe too, it was heartbreaking though!
ReplyDeleteI am almost ashamed at how cheap mine is compared to this... $77 if I don't count the two cleansers I use or my Clarisonic. Am I too lazy? And I wonder now if I look scary... LOL
ReplyDeleteNo way! I just have a penchant for the overpriced...
