When it comes to spending a night at the boyfriends, I generally want to carry as little as possible with me, to avoid having a handbag that weighs a ton!
I split my essentials in two, my makeup bag that I'll take with me, and then a mini bag of essentials that I leave tucked away in his wardrobe (shh, don't tell him!)
The art of the overnight makeup bag is one I have yet to master. I don't really want to take everything I usually wear in the day with me, because I'd probably need to take a suitcase, so I've whitled it down to these essentials.
I skipped primer, and chucked in my usual everyday foundation, Benefit's Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow, and my two essential concealers, Benefit's Boi-ing for around the eyes, and MAC Studio Finish for any unwanted nasties. I never go anywhere without my Touché Éclat, so of course that goes in.
Sugarbomb is always my go to blush for traveling, since it comes equipped with mirror and little brush, it's so handy!
As far as eyes go, I love my new Pixi pen liner, for creating the perfect winged lid, and I always include my mini Smashbox pencil liner, for waterlines and smudging! I threw in my NARS eyeshadow duo in Isolde this time, as this little palette is perfect for a day shadow, something I'm newly obsessed with (until the acquisition of my Naked 2 palette over Christmas, I was a relative eyeshadow virgin, a swish of liner was all I ever had!) I also threw in MAC's Mineralize Eye Shadow in Gilt By Association, which I know I keep banging on about but it's just so damn great. It works perfectly with Isolde to be added on for evening smokiness.
For lips, I just chuck in a Rimmel 1000 kisses balm, this one is in 500, Carry On Cherry. I love these, they have great colour pigmentation and they easily last all day, perfect! Give me one of these over a crappy Apocalips any day!
As far as brushes are concerned, I normally just take one for eyeshadows, one for concealer, and a spare fluffy one which I seem to be using for creating an eye base!
At the moment, DKNY Be Delicious Blossom is one of my favourite daily scents, and this mini version slips into my makeup bag without taking up much room, so in it goes! I also carry a spare hairband and grips, and a pair of earplugs, since my boyfriend's room looks out onto a construction site, where it appears the builders are definitely morning people.
I leave this little washbag at my boyfriends, I think I payed about two pounds for it from Superdrug, and it's the perfect size for all the little minis I need!
I have really dry skin on my arms, so this 100ml bottle of baby oil is a must! I love baby oil, it's cheap as chips and it's so good! I think this little bottle was a pound, and you only need the tiniest amount so it's great! I love St Ives face scrub, and I recieved this mini just before Christmas in a goodie bag. It's 30ml which I think is quite generous for a sample, especially since I've got over half left and I've used it at least fifteen times! I'm obsessed with face scrubs at the moment, so this is super handy!
I don't like mint, so as a result I am crazy picky over what toothpaste I use, and the boyfriend tends to pick up really strong ones, so I have this Oral B mini which I got as a freebie on a flight as a back up. I also have a miniature mouthwash, because my boyfriend's cooking tends to include half a clove of garlic per person, mmmmmmmm.
I keep a MUA pressed powder palette in this bag, because I have a habit of impromtu sleepovers where I don't have my makeup with me, so this is great to have as a back up! And as a self-confessed lipbalm addict, I had to include this Heyland Whittle pot, since it was a gift from him anyway!
Last but not least, three Body Shop samples, Tea Tree Oil for breakouts, Seaweed day cream since we all know how obsessed I am with that, and Tea Tree Pore Minimiser. I'm not quite convinced the latter is any good at it's actual job, but it does make a lovely primer!
And of course, spare cold and flu tablets, since I seem to be a walking germ magnet!
