Bronzer is a product that I used to skip out on regularly, but it seems that the reason I was skipping it was that I didn't know how to use it properly. I was convinced that bronzer was a beauty product reserved for those with heavy fake tan and a severe case of scouse brow. Turns out there are bronzers out there for pale girls too! Who knew!
The bronzer that changed it all for me was the NARS Laguna Bronzer. I was spectacularly intimidated by this when I saw it in person, but I was assured that it was the bronzer for pale people. Everyone was right, this taken on a big fluffy brush and lightly buffed into the skin looks fantastic. It's my go to bronzer, because it's so damn easy to get right. It's not orange toned, it has a hint of shimmer and it just warms up the skin fantastically. It lasts so well on the skin and is all round a fabulous product.
A bronzer that stole my heart at the beginning of the year is The Body Shop's Honey Bronzer in 001. As much as I love Laguna, there is no better bronzer for pale people, it's incredibly light and totally matte, without so much as a hint of orange to it. This is perfect for the winter months when Laguna is a touch too dark for my vampire skin.
A slightly more luxury item, the YSL Terre Saharienne bronzing powder* also makes the 'best bronzer' list. It's got a hint of shimmer and a warm but not orange shade. A little goes a long way with this one, so although it's pricey it'll last you a long time!
And lastly, a cream bronzer, the Bourjois Bronzing Primer. This one is slightly bizarre, but blended into the skin with a Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, this looks incredibly natural and bronzed on the skin. Definitely worth checking out!
What is your favourite bronzer?
I need laguna! This was a helpful readxx
ReplyDeleteI have a few bronzers in my collection, but I'm still in that stage where I can't quite figure out the best way to get it onto my skin. More often than not I just avoid it, but I really need to suck it up and keep trying!
ReplyDeleteLove to try the Body shop one! xBerrieBlogs| {beauty blog}
ReplyDeleteI love the Bourjois cream bronzer. I found it a bit hard to use at first but I essentially draw two, inch-long lines in the contours of my cheeks and then buff upwards using the real techniques stippling brush. I really really really want to try Nar's Laguna though! It's on my lust-list!http://thebeautopiablog.blogspot.co.uk/
ReplyDeleteI've always avoided bronzers too, being quite pale, but I got the Urban Decay Flushed palette which has a gorgeous one for my skintone. I'll have to look out for some of these too, the Body Shop one in particular sounds lovely! xo
ReplyDeleteThe body shop honey bronzer sounds lovely. I too need to not be so scared of using bronzer more often!!acesparklestar.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThe laguna I got in my Nars palette this Christmas seemed to be one that is a defect :( But I agree with you, bronzing is so difficult on fair skin! Currently loving my Sleek bronzer and Hoola from Benefit! Need to get my hands on the Honey Bronzer from Body Shop!<3 Pauline, Addicted to Makeup
ReplyDeleteMan oh man, I remember the fear that bronzer used to strike inside me. As a pale girl myself, I too believed that I could go no where near bronzer! My first bronzer was Benefit's Hoola which I still use! I have yet to try Laguna (still a little scared maybe? aha) but that and the Body Shop one sound great so I might just have to get over my fears again and give them a go! ReplyDeleteIt's a gorgeous bronzer! I'm so glad! xx
ReplyDeleteThe Body Shop one is definitely the best for pale skin, not orange at all! x
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome! x
ReplyDeleteLaguna is so versatile! I'd agree with that!
ReplyDeleteI like to use a really fluffy synthetic fibre brush, that way it doesn't pick up too much product! I really like the Real Techniques blush brush for it!
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome isn't it! x
ReplyDeleteIt's great isn't it! That's basically what I do but I use the Expert Face Brush! It's soooo good!
ReplyDeleteOhh I wish we had somewhere here where we could swatch TheBalm proucts! I really want the Kevin Aucoin Sculpting Powder!
ReplyDeleteOooh I haven't tried that but I love basically EVERYTHING by Urban Decay! It's really good, pale girl's best friend! x
ReplyDeleteIt's really good!
ReplyDeleteOh no! I find Hoola a touch dark for my skin, it tends to look muddy :( You do it's awesome! x
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not the only one! My nightmares involved orange cheeks. I like Hoola but it's just too dark for me :( I find Laguna lighter! The Body Shop one is definitely the best for pale skin! xx
