This week, forty pound voucher in hand, I headed into The Body Shop to pick up some of the products I've had my eye on for a while, but never gotten around to buying. Some of these products I saw in store and liked the look of, others I've read about on other blogs! All of this came to £46, so I only payed six! And it was well worth it if you ask me...
I'm some what of an insomniac, I really struggle to switch my brain off at night long enough to fall asleep. So recently, I've been reading into pillow mists to help me drift off. I had it down to either this one, or the Elemis equivalent. This one is slightly cheaper, only £10 to Elemis' £13, so when I got this voucher, I figured I would try this one out. Now, I've only used it three times, but I've noticed a difference. This spray has an amazing smell, it's made of Jujube date extract and camomile, with other essential oils blended in. It's got a very light fragrance, fruity with a hint of wood, and it definitely relaxes me! I would be interested to try the Elemis one too, to see if there's a difference. But if you struggle to fall asleep, I'd definitely recommend investing in a bottle of this!
I sort of picked this up as an extra, at only £3, it's not exactly a luxury product, but it was by the till, and I've always liked The Body Shop's Vitamin E range. This face wash is great, you lather up the bar with warm water in your hands, and then massage into your face and neck in a circular motion. I love this product, when rinsing off of my face, my skin felt instantly plumper and fresher, it even looks healthier, I wasn't expecting such dramatic results for under five pounds! I am definitely going to work this into my everyday skincare routine, possibly in the morning when I first get up!
The next product I picked up is a two in one treat. I am obsessed with the Vitamin C range at the moment, I find it makes a really dramatic difference to the health of my skin, as well as making me look more awake! This pen has an under eye cream at one end, and a roll on at the other for all around your eye area. I apply this first thing after washing and moisturising, and it wakes up my eyes, helps get rid of dark circles, and even makes me feel more awake! This retails at £12, and I would definitely pay full price for this product (to be honest, I'd probably pay full price if it didn't work, just for the wonderful citrus smell!)
I've never actually owned my own blotting tissues, and I don't really know why. I always used to pinch them out of my mum's wardrobe when I was living at home, but never really thought about buying them for myself. I have quite combination skin, but can often have problems with oily patches around my nose. Swiping one of these across my t-zone not only takes away excess oil, but the tea tree works to get rid of any developing spots in the area. These were £5 for 65 sheets, so it's not great value, so I probably wouldn't have bought them if I didn't have the voucher, but they are definitely good to have!
I haven't had much of a chance to play with this last purchase yet, but as soon as I do I will review it! I picked this up because I really really want to love it. If it does what it says, it will be a combination foundation fluid and powder, in a cute little compact complete with mirror and it's own brush, perfect for chucking in your bag for daytime touchups, or overnight stays. I bought it in shade 102 Natural Ivory which was the lightest shade they had in store, and when I swatched it, it blended into my skin perfectly. I really hope this product lives up to my expectations, you guys will be the first to know!
