Now I know a thousand and one beauty bloggers out there will be reviewing this months (and every other months for that matter) Glossybox, but I just thought I'd give my two penny's worth as there are some products that I really like in this months box!
This month's box is Detox themed, it's leaflet actually contains some great little steps that won't impact your everyday activity much, but can make a great difference to your general health, for example, drinking 8 glasses of water a day, and 8 glasses of fruit juice a week, eating less pre packaged food and trying to sweat at least once a day. I'm definitely going to try and incorporate some of these ideas into my everyday routine, after all, every little helps!
Now onto the products inside, no make up this month, unless you count the lipbalm! It was a little disappointing that the only full sized product in this box was the lipbalm, since this retails at a mere £1.99...
First up, Monu's Warming Aromatic Face Mask!
Glossybox Say: This warming facial mask helps increase vitamin and mineral absorption, instantly renewing and invigorating your skin. Natural clay provides a deep cleanse, while stimulating and renewing cell health. Beeswax and coconut oil soften, nourish and hydrate the skin, leaving it looking boosted and radiant.
I say: I'm not usually a fan of clay masks, I don't like them once they set on your skin, I just feel uncomfortable, and I don't usually like warming masks, as I hate being too hot! But I absolutely loved this mask! It didn't set making your face feel uncomfortably tight, and although it was warming, it wasn't hot, more like a gentle, just noticable warmth, like having your face in the English summer sun. The whole time I had it on my face (around fifteen to twenty minutes) my skin felt like it was being nourished and hydrated, and it smelt great! Having taken it off, my skin is noticeably more supple and smooth, and it feels great! My one gripe with this product is that this was a 30ml sample and I only got two uses out of it, the full size bottle is only 100ml and retails at £24.95, meaning you are probably only going to get six or seven applications from it, meaning it isn't particularly cheap. However, I would definitely consider purchasing a bottle for when my skin needs a bit of therapy!
Premae Skincare, Balance Rescue Face Tonique
Glossybox Say: A refreshing face toner for combination skin, this mattifies and rejuvinates congested skin. With antiseptic lemongrass and sandalwood oil as well as hydrating rose water, this alcohol free, fragrance free solution will cut through dirt and excess oil to close pores without stripping skin of its natural oils, leaving your skin feeling fresh and plump.
I say: This might just be my new miracle skin care product. It literally does everything Glossybox claim it does, my skin has gotten noticeably clearer in the four days I've been using it, and it feels amazingly fresh. As well as using as a toner, I like to pat this product on after a shower, it makes my skin feel fresh and 'plumped up' as well as combating any nasties that are drawn out by the heat of the shower. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone with acne proned skin, a breakout, or just volatile skin, it is absolutely amazing! Plus, because it contains no nasty alcohols or fragrances, you are very unlikely to react to it! It's a little pricey at £27.50 for 50ml but it will last you a very long time!
Duck Island Limited Body lotion
Glossybox Say: Stimulating the senses while capturing the aromas of the East (a fragrant combination of mandarin and bergamot) this indulgent body lotion will help you relax while simultaneously stimulating your senses.
I say: This body lotion has a lovely formula, and a great smell, but it doesn't really do much. I've been using it on my arms, shoulders and piling it on to my elbows and although it feels great to put in, it's not really doing anything, which has really disappointed me, because it does smell so great. However, it is paraben and oil free, which is a plus!
Elemis Fresh Skin Glow Facial Exfoliator
Glossybox Say: Developed by Elemis to accompany you from your teens to mid-twenties, the Freshskin range aims to nurture your skin and help prevent premature aging. With deep pore cleansing action this exfoliating facial wash combines cherry powder and jojoba beads to gently polish away dead skin cells and help refine texture. Enriched with mandarin and aniseed your skin will appear brighter and more radiant and left feeling soft and smooth.
I say: I've actually used this face wash before, in a Center Parcs Spa treatment, and I loved it then! This is a great little face wash, its cherry scent is lovely and it makes your skin super soft, whilst feeling refreshed and hydrated. This little mini has worked its way into my overnight bag, and I will definitely consider purchasing a full sized bottle when I run out, I personally think it's a steal for £12!
Jason's Lip Bee Healthier
Glossybox Say: The Jason brand name means 'healer' in Greek. The results-driven therapeutic blends of formulas and wholesome, natural ingredients reflect this, which is why we just had to include a Jason product in our detox box. To prevent parched and cracked lips this rich natural lip balm stick combines moisture trapping Beeswax with Vitamin E and Green Tea Extract. Organic Aloe Vera helps heal, soothe and protect chapped lips, while Shea Butter and Sweet Almond Oil moisturise.
I say: I almost squealed with delight on seeing this inside my Glossybox. I've been meaning to purchase a Beeswax formula lip balm for the last couple of weeks, and this one is perfect, it's super nourishing and leaves my lips feeling ready to face the cold outdoors!
This months Glossybox also contains a cute little sleep mask! I actually use one of these most nights, as my blinds don't quite fit my windows in my Halls, so I tend to get rudely awoken by the sun in the morning, so this was quite a nice little surprise for me! Can't imagine that everyone else felt the same way though!
What did you get in this months Glossybox? Will you consider purchasing any of these products?
