Nightime is when I reach for a few heavier products, I like stuff that is really gonna feel luxurious on my skin, and stuff that really feels like it's doing something.
I start by taking my beloved Bioderma on a cotton pad, to take off the bulk of my foundation and eye shadow off (I don't bother trying mascara, I prefer to use cream products to shift mascara!). I've tried the L'Oreal micellar water, the Taj one and the Melvita one, but for me Bioderma is the one, it's so easy!
After that I like to use the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish to take off the rest of my makeup (including mascara) and cleanse my skin, and I wash it off with a really hot flannel/muslin cloth. Sometimes I'll do this twice, like if I've been out in Central London all day, or if I've been wearing a lot of makeup. Then I use Lush Let The Good Times Roll, the same as I do in the morning, a little water and then massaged in circles into the skin, to get rid of any dead skin cells and really clean out the pores. This stuff is super gently but very effective.
Toner is the product I chop and change most in the evening, but at the moment I've been using the Lush Tea Tree Toner. I really like that this is antiseptic and antibacterial, so using this keeps spots at bay, but it's also really hydrating & refreshing.
I'm back on the Effeclar Duo, I go in fits and starts with this, it does improve my skin but a lot of the time I can't be bothered with the extra step. However, this helps stop those hormonal bumpy spots that just lurk for half a month under the skin, so using it is definitely worth it!
Lastly, I take three drops of the Trilogy Rosehip Oil and massage it into my skin. I get more results from this than any evening moisturiser I've ever used. It keeps my skin soft and supple, adds a bit of radiance after a long day, and also helps spots heal quicker and gets rid of scarring. This is a must have for me!
I don't use an eye cream in the evening because I haven't found one that does anything for me, so if you have any reccomendations, please share them with me!
What products do you use in the evenings?
i've been using the effaclar duo too! it's pretty gentle and is good for maintaining blemish free skin. i tried a sample of the bioderma and i think i was a bit underwhelmed. the problem is i only ever use waterproof makeup so it didn't really work for that. enjoyed reading this post :)JennA Beautiful Zen
ReplyDeleteEffeclar Duo is so good! Yeah bioderma isn't fab for waterproof makeup, but I love it for getting rid of eyeshadow, liner and my brows! Clears the way for cleansers to take everything else off :) Thank you! x
