December is officially here and with it brings Winter, and I could not be more excited. I'm a Winter girl at heart, I love frosty mornings and dark nights and cosy beds. You get the gist.
As with every change of season comes a shake up of the makeup bag, switching out products for more weather of in this case, party appropriate products, and I actually find the whole thing quite therapeutic.
This month I'll be getting a lot of wear out of my YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation, which I always seem to reach for a lot more in the colder months. It's not ideal for Christmas parties because it has SPF and a pretty glowy finish, not camera friendly, but day to day, in real life it looks amazing. It's got a buildable coverage and a dewy finish, and it just makes your skin look gorgeous and healthy, and the shade range is huge so you're likely to find a good match. It's not particularly long lasting, but with a good primer it does the job, and I'm a big fan.
To stick with the glowy theme, I'm all about the L'Oreal Stylo Lumi Magique right now. Good coverage, brightening with good lasting power, what more could you want? This really helps brighten the post-party under eye circles.
I'm loving smokey eyes right now, and I've pulled one of my MAC Quads out of retirement again, and I'm loving the purpley, taupey shades in this. In the quad I have Satin Taupe, Sketch, Blackberry, and Cranberry, four shades that work amazingly together. The quality of MAC shades is amazing and these four shades just look so wintery!
And when I'm not reaching for a smokey eye, I'm going for a bold red lip. The most Christmassy red I own is the YSL Rouge Volupte in shade 17, a gorgeous, glossy, Santa hat red, with a gorgeous creamy, long lasting formula. This shade is just divine, and it never fails to feel luxurious, from the packaging to the application. Love, love, love. Also handy to have is the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Lip Liner in Ozone, which creates a smooth base for lipstick, helps prolong the wear, and keep it from going all over my face.
