On Wednesday I made the transition from student at London College of Fashion, to graduate in Fashion Journalism. It was an exciting, emotional, HOT day, and when I hobbled into the bathroom at the end of the night (note to self, pick smaller heels) I was amazed that my makeup was still intact.
So naturally, I figured I'd tell you guys about it!
Unfortunately I didn't get a decent picture of it, but I'm gonna go ahead and explain anyway (and I'm sure you can get the gist anyway!).
I started by prepping my skin with the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer, before going in with the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation. I love the wear, coverage and finish of this base, but the smell stops me from making it a daily makeup bag addition. It's perfect for special occasions though, long lasting, medium coverage and beautifully natural on the skin. I used the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer under my eyes and on areas prone to redness (read - everywhere) and spent a really long time blending it all in! I set the lot with the Bourjois Healthy Balance powder, but first I spritzed my entire face with the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. Just to keep everything on the lockdown.
I skipped bronzer and just opted for natural blush and a hint of highlight. I used the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour blush in Energy right on the apples of my cheeks, and then patted a little of TheBalm Mary Lou Manizer on my cheekbones.
I had my brows done before the big day, so I just set them in place with the Revlon Brow Artist. I kept eyes simple, using Skimp under the browbone and Cover in the crease from the Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics Palette, before taking MAC Satin Taupe all over the lid. A little of the By Terry Kohl Terrybly in 03 along the lower lashline and upper waterline, lashings of the Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara and we're done.
On my lips I wore my favourite lipstick, the Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick in Fig, and I set the whole lot again with the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray and voila!
The whole lot stayed in place so well, despite getting teary, sweaty and practically melting under my robes!
What's your go to look for long lasting makeup?
