A MAC Foundation I Actually Like

Prior to last month, every MAC Foundation I had tried broke me out like nobodies business. Even just wearing their Studio Sculpt foundation for a two hour photoshoot left me with awful spots all over my cheeks and jawline. Nasty stuff.

Anyway, I had kinda sworn off MAC Foundations, ironic since I LOVE their concealers, until their latest release. The new MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation made a bit of a splash for claiming, essentially to be quite unique. Longwearing foundations tend, by nature, to be mattifying, and a little drying. This one however claims to be nourishing, as well as so longwearing, it's even waterproof.

I actually got an MUA to try this on me in a store before I committed to buying it, I wanted to see if it lived up to the longwear name, and if it broke me out. I ended up liking it so much I picked it up the next week in duty free.

I went for the shade NC20 which is a good match for my pale skin, and the yellow tones help cancel out the redness in my skin. The product is intensely pigmented, but not so thick that it's hard to blend. It's got a not matte but not dewy finish, and it sets down to stay put all day. Really all day, they aren't dramatising, this stuff looks as good at the end of the day as it looks when you apply it.

Is it waterproof? Well I'm not sure it'd hold up for a full on swim sesh (but why would you wear makeup for that anyway?), but it'll survive a hot sweaty day, getting caught in the rain, and even a shower. So it gets the thumbs up from me.

The nicest thing is it's a high coverage, longwearing foundation that's actually comfortable on the skin. A welcome rarity.

This has become my go to foundation, I think I'm in love!
