In The Makeup Bag - Overnight in London

Another month, another rummage through my makeup bag. This week I headed up to London overnight to play tour guide for our American visitors, and stayed in a hotel with my mum, instead of going back to my flat (we wanted to be right in central in the morning, not out in Zone 4!). Since I didn't have my trusty London makeup collection to hand for this trip, I packed a (fairly) minimal makeup bag for the trip, and here's the 4-1-1.

For base I packed the MAC ProLongwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation, which does exactly what it says on the tin. It's comfortable on the skin, with good coverage, and it stays in place all day, no budging. The shade is a little bit light for me since I have the slightest hint of tan, but blended out well, it's grand. My concealer of choice was also from MAC, the Mineralize Rich Concealer. I have this in a few shades, but this one (NW20) is good for redness and undereyes, so it's a good all rounder. I packed my new Sephora Pro Flawless Airbrush #56, partly because I'm currently obsessed with it, and partly because it's good for foundation and concealer equally.

I chucked in my Bourjois Healthy Balance as well as my Nars Yachiyo Kabuki Brush Dupe which is perfect for applying just the right amount of setting powder. For cheeks I kept things simple and just packed my Tarte Energy Amazonian Clay Blush which is incredibly natural on the skin, but also really long wearing, as well as my Real Techniques Bold Metals Blush Brush to apply it.

Eyes were a simple affair too, my Revlon Brow Artist to tame the caterpillars, a By Terry Kohl Terrybly in a dark bronzey shade for smudging along the lashline, and my current on-the-go mascara, the L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic. Simple but stand out products.

I forgot to photograph my lip pick for the day, since it was in my handbag, but I went for my Soap and Glory Sexy MotherPucker Gloss Stick in Nudist. This is one of my everyday go tos, it just works with every look!

I easily fit the lot into my Sew Lomax makeup bag, which is super cute and super dinky too, so it didn't take up much room at all!
