New In From The Drugstore

It's been a while since I've dished the deets on a few different drugstore problems - so today I'm walking you through four new-ish products that you'll find in the aisles of Boots.

First up, let's chat mascaras. I'm on a perpetual hunt for the perfect drugstore mascara, so I was keen to try the new Max Factor Voluptuous False Lash Effect, especially because I really like the original False Lash Effect Mascara. This has a bizarre, twisty wand with a lot of little bristles, and it does a great job of really lifting and separating your lashes. Unfortunately, this doesn't really give me much in the way of volume, so I'll keep looking,

There's been a lot of buzz around the new Rimmel Contour Palette in Coral Glow, so I was excited to try this. A blush, a highlight and a 'contour' which is more of a bronzer, all housed in one handy compact for under £7. Now, all three of these powders have a shimmer, but it's quite subtle, more of an irridescence. I expected them to be quite chalky, but they are actually quite soft and easy to blend. The one draw back is they don't seem to last that long on my skin, but for the price I can totally overlook that, and I actually quite like this palette.

The GOSH counter is one I very rarely look at, much less buy anything, but I picked up two new eye products that caught my attention. The first is the forever Eyeshadow Stick in Twisted Brown, a cream eyeshadow that lives up to it's waterproof claims. It's a pretty brown with a hint of taupe, and has proven to be a great base for under a dark smokey eye - or an all-in-one eye look. I also picked up the Eyeshadow Palette in To Be Cool In Copenhagen - a 9 shadow matte palette. As far as matte shadows from the drugstore go, this is up there, but I do find the pigmentation to be a little hit and miss. The lighter shades are great but some of the darker ones are a little patchy. That being said, the colour range is great and they blend out wonderfully, and for £10 it's possibly one of my favourite drugstore eyeshadow palettes.

So those are my thoughts! Have you tried any of these bits? Any recommendations for new products to pick up from the drugstore?
