It's been a while since I've done a standalone product review, but I figured my first foray into the world of cushion foundations was worth a word or five.
My girl Daphne sent the Innisfree Water Glow Cushion Foundation to me, all the way from Taiwan, and I squealed with delight when I opened it! I've heard a lot about cushion foundations, and was intrigued, so I whipped off my makeup and got cracking with this.
Firstly - let's talk about the fact that this is so effing convenient. A little compact complete with mirror & sponge that's, meh, but handy for touch ups. The packaging is light enough that it won't weigh down your bag, but sturdy enough that it's not going to leak everywhere.
Formula-wise, this stuff packs some serious glow. It's a light coverage base but you can build it up if you need something a little more. It's a very luminous foundation, I actually find it a little much on the t-zone so I like to dust a little powder there, but it's gorgeous on the cheeks, and beautifully reflective under the eyes. A bold claim, but I think this is the glowiest foundation I've ever tried - and that's not a bad thing! Right now my skin is still looking dull from a gloomy winter, so I love how this brightens my complexion!
I like to use a damp Beauty Blender to apply this, I find that gives the most natural finish, but the great thing about this product is you really could use any method! It wears really well throughout the day despite being light coverage, and it doesn't cling to dry patches, or make me feel oily! It can take a minute or two to set down, but when it does you're good to go!
The one downside? There are only three shades available. But if one of those shades is a match for you? Go for it.
