I'm a big fan of bold pinks, but normally on other people. For me, nine times out of ten I'm going for a much more subtle colour. I like just a natural hint of colour, especially when it comes to lips and cheeks, that way I can go all out with the eye makeup!
Let's start with the cheeks. I recently pulled the Benefit Hervana Blush back out of my stash. I've had this for a really long time, and I go through phases with this. When swirled together the different segments give a subtle mauvey-pink hint of colour to the cheeks. I love that this is matte, it makes it incredibly subtle! Also matte is the Natural Collection Blushed Cheeks in Sweet Cheeks, slightly more pink but still really light on the cheeks. This blush is the epitome of natural, it's a super light 'english rose' style colour!
The Bourjois Blush in Ashes of Rose is exactly what the name suggests. A dusky rose shade that's not super pigmented, so you don't get a ton of colour pay off. It's really natural on the cheeks. I've spoken about the Max Factor Creme Puff Blushes a lot here, for good reason, they're the best blushes I've tried from the drugstore. The shade Seductive Pink is amazing. A rosey pink with the slightest hint of luminescence, it's good for giving a natural glow!
Moving on to lips, it's hard to find a subtle-y pink lipstick because anything that imparts good pigment tends to not be very subtle. That being said, the Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm in Elusive is a nice nudey pink that is super smooth to apply and soft on the lips. Other than that, I tend to go for tinted lip balms like the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Petal, a hint of pink in a sheer wash of colour formula.
Lipglosses are another good way to go. I love the Urban Decay Naked Gloss in Sesso, a 'my lips but better' gloss, that just gives your lips a little something something. The L'Oreal Extraordinaire Glosses are great too, I love the shade Molto Mauve, a subtle pinky mauve that stops your lips from looking washed out.
What are your go to subtle pinks?
