In the last few weeks I've been favouring lighter blushes that just offer a hint of colour to the cheeks. I'm not really sure why, maybe because I've been favouring a more natural look all over, but I've gotten really in to using blushes that are really light on the cheeks.
The blush that started it all was the MAC Pearlematte Face Powder in Flatter Me, a pretty light peach powder that was released in the Archie's Girls collection. I've used this sparingly since it was limited edition, but I absolutely adore it. It's a light peachy pink that can be used in the place of blush and bronzer, it just gives a hint of colour and definition to the cheeks. You can't get this one any more but a lot of the MAC Face Powders do a similar sort of thing.
After that I got a little hooked on cream products, when the Josie Maran Argan Infinity Creamy Lip and Cheek Oil in Limitless Pink came along. This is an incredibly light product, a creamy oil (duh) that can be blended onto the cheeks for a light, natural pink flush. Because this is an oil it looks incredibly natural on the cheeks, it feels really comfortable to wear, and it's a pretty pick for lips too.
Also from Josie Maran, the Coconut Watercolour Cheek Gelee in Pink Escape, gives a similar effect on the cheeks, but is much more buildable. This stuff has a really strange texture, but when applied using a light hand with a stippling brush, gives a really natural glowy look to the skin.
I picked up the Jouer Lip and Cheek Tint in Peony back in April, and when applied with a light hand, the colour looks nowhere near as scary on the skin as it does in the pan. In fact, the colour really perks up the complexion, and is a great one for if your skin is looking tired.
Back to powders, I picked up the beautiful Milani Illuminating Face Powder in Beauty's Touch whilst I was in the states, and I haven't been able to put it down. A blush/highlighter hybrid, this stuff is super glowy, with just a hint of pink.
And lastly, I finally tracked down MAC's Stereo Rose Mineralize Skinfinish this Summer and boy was it worth it. Intensely shimmery, this beautiful bronzey pink is the epitome of summer glow. I'm obsessed with it.
What blushes are you loving right now?
Ooooh blushers, blushers... I am still loving Benefit Bella Bamba but I think I've lost it somewhere :(Danniella xwww.famousinjapan.co.uk
