The Review: Essie Dress To Kilt

The Essie Autumn drop has landed in my local Boots, so of course a peruse was necessary. Most of the colours were pretty meh as far as I was concerned, there's a couple of greens which are okay, an off white very similar to Summer's Urban Jungle if anyone missed that, but the red stood out to me.

I rarely wear red polish, I find true reds look a little cheap on me, so I have to go for something a little different. In the Summer I love Rimmel's Salon Pro Polish in Hip Hop, a pretty bold red with a hint of orange to it, but i was after something a little more autumn appropriate.

Dress to Kilt is a pretty dark burgandy red. It looks lighter in these photos than it is in reality, the shade doesn't photograph well which is annoying. It's really warm and wintery, it'd be a great Christmas polish! It's a fairly sophisticated red, I feel like quite a grown up wearing it!

The formula of this is fantastic, it's almost gel like, I only needed one coat for opaque, glossy colour, and it's lasted fantastically well. Four days and not a chip in sight! Although, the Sephora Formula X Topcoat has probably helped!

I can see this becoming an Autumn/Winter favourite!

What's your favourite nail polish for this time of year?
