Shall we take a minute to appreciate a mutual swoon for all things Chanel? To me, there's nothing more luxurious, nothing that makes me feel fancier. I've tried a lot of Chanel makeup, from my time working on beauty counters, and whils I've found some misses, I've also found a lot hits.
Two of my favourite foundations come from the Chanel counter, my everyday favourite, the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, and something with a little more coverage, the Chanel Perfection Lumiere.
The Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua is a beautifully lightweight foundation, you can barely feel it on the skin, it's so light and buildable. You can still get a good coverage out of this despite that, and the glow it gives your skin is second to none.
The Perfection Lumiere is more of an evening/photo worthy base. It packs a little more coverage and a semi-matte finish, if you can get past the smell it's a gorgeous product. It's what I'm planning on wearing throughout autumn, it really evens out the skin, creating a gorgeous canvas. It's super long lasting too, as I write this I've been wearing it for 10 hours and it's still intact, without a primer.
Ive blabbed on about the Chanel Les Beiges powder a lot before so I'll try and keep this brief. The hype around this is absolutely worth it, I can see why it was sold out for so long. This is an incredibly finely milled setting powder, which takes away any shine on the face but gives a natural glow to it. A handbag essential for sure.
The Chanel Powder Blushes were a bit of a miss for me, but I am head over heels for the Creme Blushes. I have two, Revelation, a pretty neutral pink, and Intonation, a shocking coral. The formula of these is unlike anything else I've tried, it's almost like a mousse. They can be sheered out or built up for different looks, and they blend really easy with a Real Techniques Expert Face Brush or your fingers! These are absolute holy grail for me, I wouldn't be without them.
The Chanel Les 4 Ombres in 234 Poésie is a relatively recent addition to my stash and I'm obsessed. This one is part of their Autumn drop and is limited edition, so it's worth getting your mitts on one ASAP if it takes your fancy! It's got a beautiful cream highlight shade, a light bronze that looks stunning all over the lid, a pretty pink champagne and a deep brown. They're all shimmery without being too in your face, they're still daytime appropriate shades. Pricey, but worth a swatch.
And lastly, I couldn't not mention the lipsticks could I?! I've mentioned the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Boy a fair few times, my perfect nude lipstick, and from the same line I also have Satisfaction, a pretty milky brown nude. I love these because they aren't too intense, they're super moisturising and easy to wear. And if a bold lip is more your thing, the Rouge Allure Velvets are worth a look. I have the shade L'Exuberante, a gorgeous bold blue toned matte pink that really steals the show.
Have you tried much from Chanel?
Aaah, Chanel makeup is just so dang classy! Really gorgeous picks. I really want to try something from them, but at the same time I don't think I'm worth yet! Ha! Definitely one day though. I would be interested in seeing what you didn't like from the range!Tasha // shiwashiful.
