My Autumn Essentials

My favourite time of year is by far Autumn. Not too hot and not too cold, often sunny, and really quite beautiful. I could not be more excited, I nearly cried last night when the temperature dropped to 12 degrees. I love autumn fashion and autumn scents, hot drinks and thick scarves. I'm always happiest in autumn.

So September first I of course started switching out all my summery picks for more autumn appropriate choices (after I got over my disappointment of not being on the Hogwarts Express of course), and I thought I'd talk to you today about my must-haves for the month.

An Autumnal Themed Candle: Currently, I'm burning Bath and Bodyworks Cinnamon Sugared Donut, but I've also got a few Pumpkin Pie scented pillar candles that I found super cheap in Home Sense. Definitely a festive scent.

Your favourite hot drink: There's something so satisfying about being out in the cold, with a hot drink warming your fingers and your insides. My top pick is a White Caffe Mocha with soy milk and vanilla syrup from Starbucks, so so good. When I'm at home however, I like to make a big pot of Whittard's Blackcurrant and Elderflower tea.

A cosy blanket:: For lazy days on the sofa, extra warmth at night, lying in the garden to look at stars, when you're having a sick day, or even when you just need a little extra warmth. This one is my mum's, but I keep pinching it, I love that it's such a thick, warm knit.

A base with a bit more coverage: For most of Summer, I tend to sport BB creams and tinted moisturiser, but when the cold weather rolls around I like to lean for something that offers a little more coverage, especially once my tan starts to fade away. One of my favourites is the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Foundation, which gives a bit more coverage without compromising on natural finish.

A warm toned eyeshadow palette: I am alllll about warm, bronzey, smokey eye looks for autumn, and 99% of the time I reach for my Urban Decay Naked Palette. It's got a beautiful array of warm toned shadows, something for every occasion. And for days when you can't be bothered, a cream shadow in the same vein, I love MAC's Constructivist Paint pot. Just smudge and go.

A natural flush blush: When I think of autumnal makeup, I think of bronze smokey shadow, wind bitten cheeks and berry lips. This is the cheek part. I love the Revlon Powder Blush in Mauvelous, a matte powder blush that adds a little pinch of pink to the cheeks.

A signature scent: Autumn for me means warm, musky scents, and nothing has ever come close to Giorgio Armani Si. This could just be my favourite scent ever.
