Chanel collections don't normally take me in, but this may just be the exception that proves the rule. As part of the Autumn drop, Chanel added another eyeshadow quad to their range, Poésie, a collection of slightly pink toned shimmery shadows.
Now lets not beat around the bush here, Chanel Eyeshadows are really pricey, and this is by no means a palette you need in your collection. Yes, it's a nice palette, but it's in no way a necessary purchase. If, however, you're looking for a treat for yourself, or a gift for someone, then this would be a great option. I was lucky enough to receive this as a gift, I would never spend this much money on four eyeshadows for myself! (unless, maybe it was my birthday...)
Onto the eyeshadows themselves, there's a champagne cream shimmer, a pink toned champagne shade, both which work fantastically as highlight shades or as base colours. Then there's a pretty bronzey taupe which is the ultimate all over the lid shade, and a dark plummy brown, which I love in the crease or as a liner. The formula of these isn't anything groundbreaking, they're pigmented and blendable, but nothing super intense. They all blend together really nicely and the shades are really complimentary of each other. These shadows all have a slight pink tone to them (not as much as the Naked 3, it's subtle but there), which works especially well on anyone with hazel or green eyes!
The nice thing about this quad is that despite only holding four shades, you can create a good range of looks for day or night, it's pretty versatile.
The verdict? A nice treat, but not a necessary purchase.
What are your favourite eyeshadows?
How gorgeous!! I love the Chanel quads. You're right though, it's definitely more of a treat than a necessity. xxhttp://thesundaychapter.blogspot.com
