There are a lot of really good products in the drugstores at the moment, but that doesn't mean you want to up and leave the high end counters. There are a few products that are a little pricier, but are definite collection must haves!
The Urban Decay Naked Palette: Everyone has a preference, but for me I always come back to this one. The shadow quality is insane, so pigmented and easy to blend, with long wear and no fallout, and the shadows are all so complimentary, there isn't a single shadow in this palette that I don't use regularly. It's not the cheapest eyeshadow palette out there, it retails for £37, but with 12 eyeshadows in there, they work out at just over £3 each, which isn't too bad in the scheme of things (MAC Eyeshadows are £13 a piece!).
NARS Laguna Bronzer: The one and only bronzer I've ever hit pan on. This stuff is just so good, it's not muddy looking, it gives definition and warmth in one go, and it's super long lasting on the skin. I never thought I would be a bronzer sort of gal, but this was a game changer for me, and I haven't found anything that's come close.
Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer: There aren't an abundance of eyeshadow primers in the drugstore, and none of the ones I've tried have really left a lasting impression. I have yet to find anything that comes close to this Smashbox offering, it's like eyeshadow glue!
Bite Beauty Lipsticks: I mean, they're just amazing. Food grade ingredients, fantastic pigmentation, impressive weartime and yet they still feel really comfortable on the lips. The colour range is good too, there's definitely something for everyone in there.
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation: You guys know by now this stuff is holy grail for me. It takes me from looking a bit like I died, to like I was recently blessed by an angel. You know the drill by now, good stuff.
What do you like to splurge on?
I just want to take this picture and frame it because it is sooo beautiful!! crazy I know! I love splurging on foundation the most! My tarte, and nars foundations are amazing and both have a different texture, and finish so both make me look amazin (or so I think!!) I just bought a mini bite lipstick, and it really is love!! xxAlexandra | theastyleblog.com
ReplyDeleteI definitely have to agree on the Vitalumiere Aqua foundationholy grail status, hands down. I'm with you on the Naked palette, though I actually prefer Naked2the cooler-toned taupe neutrals work better for me and I love having a matte black in there as well. I'm only starting to get into Bite Beauty, but so far I'm really impressed :)Marianna | www.impressionblend.com
