A Drugstore Haul & First Impressions

Welcome to part two of the haul that shouldn't have happened. This time it's all the drugstore bits. I feel like this is easier to justify because there are a few things I need in there? You know the drill, you go to Boots for something nondescript and come out with a ton of makeup. I blame 3 for 2.

I went to Boots to pick up Shampoo and Conditioner (I always run out super fast since the Boy always steals mine). I'm pretty low maintenance with Shampoo and Conditioner, I love the Herbal Essences clarifying shampoo, and and the smooth and soft conditioner! The haircare was on 3 for 2 so I took the opportunity to repurchase my Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave In Conditioner, which I was about to run out of too!

Two more boring purchases, I picked up a new Wilkinson Sword Intuition Plus Hydra Soft Razor, because my last one went walkies. This razor has a built in soap bar so you don't need to use shaving gel, and it's the only razor that doesn't give me razor burn! I also needed a new sharpener, and I picked up this Barry M one, because it has two sizes and it's got covers for the sharpener ends, so it won't fill your makeup bag with pencil shavings!

On to more exciting things! I had had my eye on the Clinique Highlighting stick, but when I swatched it I was disappointed at how glittery it was. I then saw the No 7 Instant Radiance Highlight Stick, which is much creamier, and just gives a beautiful glow to the skin. I'm totally in love with it!

I wanted to pick up a second shade of the Max Factor Creme Puff Blushes, this time I went for the shade Seductive Pink. Because these blushes are baked they all are slightly different, but for me this is the perfect soft pink shade for everyday. Also from Max Factor, I finally picked up the Excess Shimmer Cream Shadow in Bronze. I love the shade of this but I'm not blown away by the formula, for me I find I need a primer underneath, because it's pretty creamy so it does fade!

After telling you all how I didn't like the Real Techniques Bold Metals brushes, I errrr.... bought another one. I was struggling with my blush brushes and not getting along with any of them, so I decided to pick up the Bold Metals Blush Brush. I much prefer this to the other brushes from the line I've tried, this time the fact that it doesn't pick up too much product is a good thing, and it's fairly petite so it's good for getting a natural blush look.

And lastly, I picked up a couple of Essie polishes. I picked up Too Too Hot first, which in the bottle looked like a red with pink undertones, something I don't have, but on me it pulls more orangey, so I ended up going back and getting another shade, Peach Daiquiri. Peach Daiquiri has been on my hit list for ages, I wasn't sure if it was unique enough to warrant purchasing, but I'm totally in love with it, it's a gorgeous shade!

And that's it! No more shopping for me for a while!

Have you picked up anything recently?
