Autumn Polish Picks: Shunning Red Nails

I'll be honest, I'm a little bored of the usual autumn rigamarole of burgundy and red polishes, so I thought I'd show you the polishes I've been leaning toward instead.  There's a decidedly purple grey theme here, but I think they all feel decidedly autumnal, don't you?

Starting off with Models Own Purple Grey, which, you guessed it, is a purple grey. I love that this shade is quite dark, but it's a little different. As a rule I don't really love purple polishes, but the grey tones in this just really give it a little something extra, it definitely makes it a much more wearable shade. The wear time on this is great but I do think that the Model's Own polishes could have a nicer brush! With a £5 price tag though, it's hard to complain!

I pretty much exclusively wore the Ciaté Iced Frappe polish for the first half of last month, which I'll admit was an odd pick for this time of year, but the more I wear it the more I think it's perfect. It's a beautiful dusky lilac pink shade, that for some reason just feels warm and autumnal to me. It's sophisticated and lady like, it just feels like autumn weekends to me. Also, I can tell you that this is without a doubt the longest lasting nail polish I've ever tried. Amazing.

Also from Ciaté, Pillow Talk, a gorgeous warm grey shade with a hint of blue undertones. I think this is my favourite shade of the bunch, it's just beautiful. There's a serious lack of darker grey polishes on the market weirdly enough, but this is definitely my favourite! As with the previous polish, the formula is amazing! The brush on Ciaté polishes is fantastic too.

Essie Blanc definitely isn't a traditional autumn pick, but after a few weeks of indecision, I'm firmly on the white nail trend. For this trend to work, I really think the quality of the white polish has to be top notch, I tried a Maybelline one but it really didn't work, whereas this one is amazing. It's got a thick, opaque, glossy formula and with a good manicure, this looks amazing.

I've had Model's Own Purple Blue Beetle Juice for ages, but it's only recently that I've been giving it a good trial, and I really love it. It's a duochrome glitter polish that sometimes looks purple, sometimes pink and sometimes blue. It's beautiful, and with a thick glossy topcoat it just looks fantastic. It's pretty chip resistant too!

And lastly, Essie Penny Talk, a beautiful copper metallic shade that I have yet to find anything similar to. I can't get over how gorgeous this shade is, it's rosy gold in some lights, and coppery silver in others, it's completely unique and I can't stop wearing it.

What shades have you been loving this autumn?
