You know what I'm talking about here. This could just as easily be called the 'I woke up like 'dis' edit, or the 'no makeup makeup day makeup' edit, or the 'makeup to put on before your significant other wakes up so he thinks you look good without makeup' edit, but that's not quite as catchy (and fairly niche, although I'm sure we've all done it).
I'm on a thing for glowy primer right now, so I start by slapping this all about my sleepy face, in the hope it adds the natural glow only acquired by regularly falling asleep before 9.30pm. I follow up with a moisturiser with a hint of tint, the Origins Vitazing is good, but I like the L'Oreal Skin Perfection Moisturiser. Comes out of the tube like a regular moisturiser, but blends in with your natural skin tone on application, just helping to even out any redness or discolouration. For any more serious imperfections, an easy to apply creamy concealer like the Soap and Glory Kick Ass Instant Blur and Brighten Concealer, blended out with a damp Beauty Blender is the one. You get the coverage of the concealer, but the Beauty Blender makes it look like skin. Magic.
Then I slap a bit of super natural mascara on. Does anyone else have a mascara which really is a bit crap on hand, for those days when you just want your lashes too look separated, lifted, and just a tad better than they do normally? Well, I do, and it's the Physicians Formula Organic Wear mascara, which I hail the 'my lashes but better' mascara. If I need it, I'll also stick a little of a nude liner in my waterline, to brighten things up, but this is an extra step really.
And lastly, a little bit of the Josie Maran Coconut Watercolour Cheek Gelee in Poppy Paradise, the worlds most natural blush. I pat this onto my pizza cheeks and blend it out with the beauty blender, for just the tiniest hint of a pink flush. If I'm feeling REALLY fancy, I might pop a little on my lips too, but I usually just plump for lip balm.
And that's it! It's just a 'my face but better' look, very light and fresh, and pretty much undetectable to the untrained eye. It seems like a lot but it's all very simple and I've got it down to a 60 second art form!
