The January Base Edit

When January rolls around, I'm all about getting back that light and glowy complexion. The post Christmas slump hits me hard, and my skin needs a little help getting some life back!

I'm a big fan of glowy, highlighting primers, they just do wonders for the skin, and perk it up before you even get started. I'm trying to use up my Benefit That Gal right now, which is a nice subtle option, I like that it's got a peachy tone to it, it really helps perk up dull areas! It  applies super smooth, and whilst it doesn't smooth the skin out, it does help keep your makeup intact. A good all rounder to kick off with.

Moving on to base, I'm still completely hooked on my NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser, it's love, I tell you. This stuff is just THE BOMB, dewy but not too dewy, glowy but not too glowy, buildable coverage, good lasting power, and a lightweight natural finish. It doesn't feel like you're wearing makeup at all when you wear this, but it looks bloody good.

Concealer-wise, my new love comes in stick form, it's the Soap and Glory Kick Ass Instant Blur and Brighten Concealer. You'll hear about this in my December favourites post tomorrow, so I'll keep this short, but essentially what you need to know is that it's easy to apply, and is dreamy for under eyes and blemishes and redness. Check back tomorrow for the full dish!

I don't necessarily feel like I need to set all of this with a powder, but sometimes I like to. Another one from the archives I've whacked out is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Palette, to help things get glowy. I like to use Dim Light as a T-Zone setting powder, Incandescent Light as a subtle cheek and browbone highlight, and Radiant Light to warm things up, usually where I would apply my bronzer. It just gives a subtle glowy-sheen to the skin, and makes everything look a bit more perfected!

What are your go-to base bits right now?
