2014 was the year I became a threading convert, and I couldn't be happier about it. My brows have never looked better, and it's all thanks to the lovely ladies at Blink. I did a full post on my threading experience, which you can read here. After that post the lovely team at Blink got in touch and offered to send me a few bits to make the most of my bangin' new brows, and report back to you lovely lot!
First up, let's talk about the Blink Brow Powder*, which is the product I was most intrigued by. What we've got here is a dinky pot filled with really pigmented powder, and a small spongy applicator, which picks up a decent amount of product for you to place on your brows. This took some getting used to, but I found the best thing to do with this was to take it in a line on the underside of my brows, and then use a spoolie to distribute it. This was the boldest of the three products in terms of finish, and isn't necessarily something I'd do on your average Tuesday, but for nights out or bold brow days it's fantastic. I was also surprised at how long lasting this was, I haven't been setting it with anything, but it'll stay intact on your face for a good ten hours! My only gripe with this product is the shade is a liiiiittle bit too warm, but I can get away with it because of the red tones in my hair!
Moving on to the Blink Brow Definer*, and this really impressed me. It's essentially just a pencil but what I like about it is that it's not overly pigmented, it's pretty much impossible to go overboard with this. The pencil is super thin, so it's easy to be precise, and it's just waxy enough that it's long lasting (although, admittedly not as long lasting as the powder). It's a good colour match (I have all three of these in the shade Indian Chocolate) and it's a perfect everyday option.
And lastly the Blink Eyebrow Gel, and this is my favourite of the three. Since having my brows threaded, I've actively needed a brow gel, because the lines and edges are so perfect, one hair out of place and I look mental. I've been on the hunt for one but have struggled to find something that ticks all of the boxes. Now this is tinted, but I wouldn't say it makes a massive difference, what I like is that it's so easy to use and that it will hold your brows in place ALL. DAY. No movement, no strays, and none of the crispiness you sometimes get. I've used brow gels that leave my eyebrows feeling like they've been dipped in wax, or that by the end of the day look like they have severe dandruff, but this is virtually undetectable, just with mighty hold! This has become a staple for me, on it's own on days I'm skipping brows, and over the top of other products!
I'd thoroughly recommend Blink and their products to everyone, and I'm off to go book myself back in!
Have you tried threading before?
