Another year has been and gone and I'm left feeling decidedly old. 2014 was a good year for me, I found my feet in London, grew this little corner of the internet into something I'm really proud of, started a YouTube channel, was featured in a magazine, and, most importantly, was happy. 2015 is set to be a big one too, with my 21st birthday, graduation and a few travel plans too, it's going to be a year full of changes and growth. I hope that throughout 2015 Bed In The Kitchen will be full of vibrant and exciting content for you guys to read, and that we can journey through this year together!
I want to continue uploading daily content for as long as possible, I love that there's something new for you everyday here, and I love getting to interact with you all on a daily basis. There may come a point this year where I have to take a step back, whether that's due to Uni workload or (eek) the fact that I've graduated and got a full time job! Either way, I'll keep you all in the loop and for now, daily content is here to stay!
Which brings me on to content! Obviously daily blogging can take a little drain on my inspiration pool sometimes, so if you guys ever have any requests for content please do just leave them in the comments, or tweet them to me! I don't always have time to reply to every comment, but I read each and every one, and I hope you know how much it means to me when you take the time to leave a message for me! You guys are so supportive and it means the world.
So 2015! I've not made resolutions for my day to day life so much as goals for 2015 (you can read about those on my lifestyle blog jayerockett.com!), but I have a few beauty resolutions!
- Make more time to wash my makeup brushes. I'm so bad for spot cleaning and skipping a regular deep clean! I always feel so much better when I get round to it, but sometimes it seems like such a chore! Clean brushes make so much difference to the way makeup looks & help stop the spread of germs, so I need to just buckle down and do it!
- Drink more water. I can see the difference in my skin when I drink more water, it just looks plumper and healthier, and yet I fall in and out of doing this all the time!
- Stop plucking, keep threading. Not to toot my own horn, but my eyebrows looked banging after my first threading experience at Blink last month (read more on that here). Since then I've fallen back into plucking because I've been at home and not near a Blink, but as soon as I'm back in London I'm booking an appointment! I'm a threading convert from now on!
- Rock a bold lip more often. I've got a lot of bold lip gurus in my life (ahem Tami & Alexandra), but I'm always afraid of rocking one myself. Well, not this year, 2015 will be the year that I embrace the bold lip!
- Throw out my mascaras. I'm TERRIBLE at abiding the three-month mascara rule, and I hoard the things. Right now I have seven open. SEVEN. I CANNOT FEASIBLY USE SEVEN MASCARAS UP BEFORE THEY GO GROSS. From now on I will have no more than two open at once, and they will get the chuck at the three month mark.
- Buy less, use more. I don't need any more lipsticks or foundations or eyeshadow palettes. What I do need to do, is make use of what I have. And save some money for post graduation brokeness.
Are you guys making any beauty resolutions? And what would you like to see on Bed In The Kitchen in 2015?
