I tend to spend most of my weekends working (normally because I procrastinate too much in the week), so when my dad asked if I wanted to spend a day with him at the Sofitel at Heathrow airport last weekend, wild horses couldn't have kept me away.
I drove on down and met him just in time for lunch in one of the hotel's restaurants. I opted for a classic club sandwich (which sadly came out missing it's avocado, sob!) and a peach iced tea, and we shared a portion of delicious skinny fries. It was so nice to have a leisurely lunch, most days I eat my lunch at my desk!
After a cup of tea in the club lounge, and scoping out the hotel room (seriously comfy bed and giant bath complete with a TV), we robed up and headed down to the spa (complete with sexy spa shoes), where we steam room-ed, sauna-d and hydro pool-ed to our hearts content, before accidentally napping in the relaxation room for the best part of 45 minutes. I've been feeling inexplicably anxious over the last week or so, so to take that time to just vegetate was nothing short of blissful.
We spent the rest of the evening laptops in hand, getting some work done in the club lounge, with a glass or two of wine! It was nice to spend some time with my dad, I don't get to see him anywhere near as much as I see my mum, and even if we spent the afternoon working, it was nice to get a bit of a change of scenery in!
I need to make lazy Sundays more of a habit!
I have to say I do love hanging out in a hotel! We once booked ourselves into a really posh hotel quite near our house for a treat - it was great, like a luxurious holiday but without the travelling, I'd definitely do it again! My biggest guilty pleasure is to book into a hotel on my lonesome, it's nice to have peace and quiet, a huge bed to yourself and lounge about ordering room service!

Your Sunday sounds wonderful. There's something that makes hotels so special and somewhat magical.
