This weekend I'm packing my bags for my birthday weekend getaway, so I figured it was the perfect time to show you my travel essentials! These are the products that make their way into my suitcase each and every time I travel, and they're pretty damn good.
Let's start with non-beauty things shall we? When I know I'll be traveling in a car or on a train, or I'm heading somewhere with a high altitude, in go the travel sickness bands. I get really awful motion sickness, and these really do help! I picked these up in a french pharmacy, but I'm pretty certain you can get these in any old chemist. Also not in the beauty field, I've got two dinky little This Works minis that live in my go-bag, the Deep Sleep Stress Less Rollerball, just in case I get anxious, and the Deep Sleep Pillow Spray, to help a hotel room feel like home.
All my curly haired gals out there will be with me on this, just the idea of traveling without my arsenal of tress tamers makes me anxious. My hair is difficult to say the least, so it's important for me to have a team of products and tools to keep my mane under control. I pretty much always pack my straighteners when I travel my beloved Violet GHD's, so I have the option of straight or curly hair, and I have a compact Tangle Teezer which lives it's life hopping between suitcase, gym bag and even handbag if it's gonna be a long day. As far as products go, the Lush Shampoo Bar in Honey I Washed My Hair is basically the worlds most travel friendly beauty product. It even comes in a little tin perfect for chucking in your beauty bag. You could even just break off a small chunk to take, this stuff lasts forever! The It's A 10 Miracle Leave In Product is a travel must have for me, this stuff is fantastic. I disperse a couple of spritzes of this in my damp hair after washing, and it kind of acts as a serum, leave in conditioner and tress-tamer all in one. When I use this, I can pretty much blow dry my hair tame with a brush which is no mean feat. I also always take a mini can of the Umberto Giannini Backcomb In A Bottle, which is pretty much the only drugstore texturising spray that comes in travel size. Whether I straighten or curl my hair, I like to add in a little texture so this comes in handy!
A few skincare products to mention, I love the Yes To Carrots Gentle Fragrance Free Cleansing Wipes, which come in a pack of 25 or 10. Now, I know, makeup wipes are the devil, but two points here. One, I just use these to remove my makeup and always follow up with a proper cleanser, these are just more travel friendly than bringing makeup remover and cotton wool, and two, if it's only for a couple of nights, or for in transit, it's really not the end of the world. Of course, I never go anywhere without my mini Caudalie Eau de Beauté spray, which I use as a toner and a refresher throughout the day.
And lastly, I wanted to mention the Lush Shower Gels, which come in mini 100g bottles and last forrrrrrrever. Like legitimately, I can use one of these every day for a month before it runs out, but it's still dinky and compact. My favourite is the It's Raining Men shower gel, which smells deliciously like citrus and toffee.
And that's it! Those are my absolute essentials! What do you have to have on hand for travel?
