We've all been there, whether it's a night out with one layer of base too many, or a week where your skin has barely had a chance to breathe. Your skin has a mini freakout caused by too much makeup. It happens. Here's how to fix it.
CLEANSE // You'll want to start by getting every last scrap of makeup off your skin, without stripping it. I haven't found anything better than The Body Shop Sumptuous Camomile Cleansing Balm, which removes even stubborn waterproof mascara without feeling oily or heavy on your skin.
SOOTHE // For skin that's in turmoil, there's little better than the First Aid Beauty Oatmeal Repair Mask, a rich and nourishing 10 minute mask that soothes and repairs angry skin with protective oats and antioxidants. It's like a warm hug for your face.
SPRITZ // A spritz of a facial mist like the Caudalie Eau de Beauté can really help add a little glow back into lacklustre skin. This step is my favourite!
NOURISH // To help prevent any makeup-overload breakouts, reduce any that are in full swing and hydrate the skin back to full health, I like to go hell for leather with the Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant +*. This stuff is just packed with skin boosting goodness, and a few drops of this massaged into the skin will do the world of good.
REPAIR // This is where I like to go in with The Body Shop Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleep Mask*, an overnight serum-style mask that does wonders for repairing and replenishing the skin, leaving it feeling hydrated, plump and smooth.
What are your go to's for when you've overdone it on the makeup front?
