It can be hard to sort through the aisles of the drugstore to find gems when it comes to eyeshadows. There's a lot of crappy products out there, but there are also a lot of standout products too. Today we're putting the spotlight on the good stuff, to make your next trip to the drugstore a little easier.
Let's start with the cream shadows! The Maybelline Colour Tattoo Line is pretty hit or miss, but the shade Creamy Beige is a fantastic one. Completely budgeproof and easy to blend, this colour looks great alone, and makes a great base. I also love the Max Factor Wild Shadow Pencils for this, swipe on for a resilient base colour, or for a pretty and easy all over lid colour. The Kiko Smudgeproof Shadow Sticks aren't quite as long lasting, but the colour range is much bigger, and their equally as beautiful. The Max Factor Excess Shimmer Cream Shadows are undeniably messy, but the colours are stunning and when applied carefully, they look gorgeous and last well.
I'm not really into single eyeshadows, but I love the Seventeen Eye Eye Shadow in Rose Quartz, so much so that I made an exception for it! Super pigmented and a beautiful unique shade, it was worth breaking the rule! I love the Wet and Wild Trios in Walking On Eggshells and Silent Treatment, they're such great quality for the incredible price tag. The Rimmel Glam Eyes Smokey Brown Quad is the perfect does-all travel-friendly quad.
In terms of bigger palettes, I've only found two that tick all the boxes for me. There's the Barry M Super Natural Eyeshadow Palette which houses six shades very close to the standout colours from the Naked 3 palette, and the MUA Romantic Efflorescent Palette, which has every possible autumn shade you could want!
