The Best Of Highlighters

I seem to have found myself in a real highlight phase, I can't get enough of that glowy, dewy, kissed-by-angels look. I've been putting a ton of highlighters through the wringer, and I've found the best of the best, from the drugstore and the high end counters too.

Let's start with the most budget friendly option, the Collection Contour Kit costs £4.19 and is home to a fantastic highlight. It's shimmery but not chunky, pigmented but not chalky, and I really really like it. A little dusting of this on the cheekbones is just beautiful.

Also from the aisles of Boots and Superdrug, the L'Oreal True Match Lumi Rose Powder Glow Illuminator. This is more of an all-over-glow dusting powder, I use this with a light hand to set my makeup on days when I just want to look subtley radiant! It's not at all chunky but it's much more subtle than the Collection highlight, so maybe skip this one if you like a strong highlight! From the same line, I love the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Primer, both as a base before foundation for a real glow, and also patted onto the cheekbones on top of foundation for a subtle sheen. This can settle into pores if it's applied over the wrong foundation though, so be wary!

I've been a fan of The Balm's Mary Lou Manizer for a long time, it's by no means subtle, but it is a gorgeous champagne gold highlight. I've recently been trying out their Cindy-Lou and Betty-Lou Manizers too, and they're just as awesome, although they're more of a shimmery blush and bronzer on my complexion.

Benefit Sunbeam was one of the first highlights I ever bought, and it's my go to for travelling to warmer climates. It's a beautiful golden sheen that looks incredible when paired with a tan. The cream formula is easy to apply and blend with your fingers and even my mum likes this on me. I've also got Benefit's Watts Up and whilst I don't like using this by swiping it on the cheeks, a little of this on the fingertips blends in to look really natural. Another summer pick!

And lastly a more subtle choice, my everyday pick is the Estée Lauder Double Wear Brush On Glow BB Highlight. This stuff is more of a natural glow, no shimmer, just a bit of brightness under the eyes, it blends out like a dream, and looks really natural!

Have you got a favourite I haven't tried?
