What's On My Face: New In From The Drugstore

Right now I'm experiencing some serious drugstore loving, there are some seriously great products available at really affordable prices. In fact, this week I actually wore an entire face of drugstore products, which very rarely happens, so I thought I'd document it, and talk you through the products I used!

I started by priming my skin with the Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot Primer, which creates a smooth, even surface for the rest of my base to go on to. I then went in with the L'Oreal Infallible 24h Stay Fresh Foundation in 015, which I'm really loving, it looks super natural on the skin, it's hydrating but not too dewy, and it evens out the skin tone without looking heavy or cakey. I've been testing out the new L'Oreal True Match La Touche Magique Concealer, which annoyingly is in the wrong shade for me, it's a little too dark, but otherwise I really like. It's light in texture, easy to blend, and it covers dark circles well. I set the lot in place with the L'Oreal Infallible 24h Matte Powder, which I surprisingly really like. It's super matte and got good coverage for a powder, but it still looks natural on the skin, and doesn't get rid of any glow.

I kept cheeks simple, I used the Essence Matte Touch Blush in Berry Me Up (not a berry in the slightest) on the apples of my cheeks for a pop of natural colour, and then I used the Collection Gorgeous Glow Palette as a bronzer, and then the lighter shades on the tops of my cheekbones as a gentle highlight. I love the way the colours in this palette come together, it's really subtle but beautiful.

I used the Maybelline Master Brow Pro Palette to fill in sparse patches in my brows, before brushing them through with a spoolie to make sure things were looking natural.

For eyes I used the MUA Romantic Efflorescence palette which I think is totally perfect for autumn. I used the matte cream shade all over the lid and up to the brow bone as a base, and then used the shade under neath that, a pretty shimmery taupe as my main lid shade. I took a little of the matte taupe brown in the bottom right corner in the crease, and then patted a little of the silver shade next to it on the inner third of my lid to brighten things up. I was so impressed with how easily these shades blended together, and how well they lasted! I finished with a coat of my new favourite Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara, for thick and fluttery lashes.

And finally, I finished up with a new favourite nude lipstick, the Essence Longlasting Lipstick in 07 Natural Beauty, a pretty nude that's not too pink or too brown. It's a shade I can see suiting a lot of people!
